So I got into a party for daily Heroic Magister's Terrace as tank. Party had hunter, shadow priest, lock, and holy priest. We started the game, got to big pull, I assigned the marks for trap, mc, seduce. Everyone said ok, I pulled, then party wiped. Then shadow priest and lock say to the party they are not going to seduce or mc and that they never seduce and mc in Heroic Magister's Terrace. I was like wtf... I said if you don't mc and seduce how in the hell I am going to hold agro, I said I can't hold more than 3 on agro, even then without paladin's salvation, 3 is a little hard if fights are not quick. I can hold agro on 5 if there's pally salvation. Shadow priest said you got swipe. I was like swipe only hit 3 mobs and it doesn't pull high threat like lacerate. So they said fine and were gonna seduce and mc. So I mark the target, pull mobs and there was no cc at all. We wipe. I told the party, well guys we have a shadow priest who doesn't mc and lock who doesn't seduce, there's no way I can do this, what you need is a pally tank and even with pally tank, good luck without any cc, and left.
So What the f**k is wrong with priests and locks? If those two ppl start talking bad about my tanking, I am going to f**king kill them. I have tanked every heroic, kara, mag, gruul, za. I have tanked more than half of the heroic and kara as even moonkin tank. I know how to tank, it's them who doesn't know how to f**king cc.

I've never once tanked, but I know your pain. No CC = one dead healer. I've ran into groups like this and immediately left because I just don't want a repair bill.

If you're doing Magisters you NEED 3 CC. Maybe if you're geared in something like T6 you could spare one, but you NEED CC. They don't want to? Boot them and get a mage.

I tanked H MgT the other day with a shammy healer, Frost Mage, Hunter, and Lock. The only cc we used was enslave on the demon chicks and a sheep on the healer. The hunter was always ready to freeze for the healer but didn't use it much.

The biggest key I've found to tanking with little to no cc is you either need to be in a guildy group or a group of great friends who understand they CAN"T pull aggro or it's a wipe or you need to leave group.

I've tab swiped and held up to 6 before on runs like MgT and Shattered Halls, but without a group that knows how druid tanking works and gives you that extra few seconds to build aggro, you're toast. I won't ever run either of them without a group of guildies :P

So basically rant away man, you got screwed, if you roll a class, be prepared to be asked to do the things your class can do. That's what they're there for. People who won't are just idiots.

BTW, I love shammy earth shield and priest Prayer of mending, as the threat goes to me and gives me a heal those first few hits so I can have that extra time to build aggro before they have to heal me.

Sorry but no. You don't NEED three cc. Would it be really nice? yes, but it's hardly impossible to do it. My first successful full heroic mgt clear was warrior, shadowpriest (me), feral druid, enhance shaman, holy priest (healer). We cleared the whole thing with 1 wipe on vexxalus due to the tank dc'ing at about 15%. The tank was in t4/badge gear while the dps was in t4/t5/badge gear aswell. If you're all competent and know what to do and when you can do it then you shouldn't have too many problems.

As for the op, chalk it up to lazy/incompetent players who want an ez mode run. My main is(or was rather) a shadowpriest and if asked (though rarely) I'd mc any mob that I was asked to. Just don't group with that particular lock/spriest any time soon lol.

Once again it's not the class but those people playing in your group. If some certain person don't do what is asked from him in a group then just boot and get a new member. Some noobs might roll a lock thinking about total evil dps nuke master and will not descend to the level of CC.

Too few people actually read different forums and learn their class from people who know better. Too many just level to 70 (as melee hunters if I may add) and then think they know what they are doing since they ARE 70.
Breaking CC with aoe, fearing in instance like they do in pvp, dps pulling mobs and rant for not being healed and so on.

There will always be groups that u just need to leave as quickly as possible. Should I have stayed in a group as healer other day in MT when "tank" was Ret pally and lost 50% of HP from 1 crit from a thrash mob? I didn't and god bad mouthed badly after that. They told me that I was worst healer ever and I need to suck their d*cks...

Good friend list is so very very important and good guild even more =)
Try not to get a heart attack during wow since it's just a game and there are too many ignorant people inside it.

You dont need 3 CC at all in MgT. I have done it as a shadow priest several times and my fastest run on heroic of 1 hour 20 minutes was with an enhance shaman in the group, we had only 1 CC, and no one had any T6 gear, regular badge, crafted, perhaps one piece or two of ZA or T5.
Yes I was MCing, but the warrior tanking knew how to handle the MC. It is pointless trying to mC if the tank does not know how to watch the MCed mob, or the other 2 dps do a poor job on the other mobs.
Skills come first, CC last.
