My Damage Output aka gimpedFollow

Something I've noticed lately with the time I spend in BGs... compared to other rogues, my total damage output is very low. I'm not necessarily displeased with my kills, but I'd have to think that increasing damage output would have a positive effect.

Armory Link: Greymouse

That's pretty much my PvP set-up, except I normally wear the Sargent's cloak. My one trinket sucks, but it's usually the medallion instead. No enchants on the swords yet, but was thinking of just adding +9 damage in hopes of an upgrade soon.

Any suggestions on gear changes, or spec changes? FTR, I don't raid, other than a rare trip to Kara that usually ends at first boss.

Also, is this PvP gear bad for instancing/raiding? I have a lot of blue PvE gear (other assination pieces, etc) but it just seems like it doesn't measure up to the stats from the gladiator & veterans stuff.

Just at first glance from a non PVPer it looks like you have too much hit (79 is PvP cap I think) and not enough AP (I have more than that in my raid gear).

Mongoose is your only real choice for weapon enchants, you might wait till you get S2 weapons though. +15 agi wouldn't hurt but isn't optimal.

Combat swords may not be bad for PvP, but its better for raiding. You may want to look into a hemo spec if you are doing BGs exclusively, and maybe go with maces or fists instead of swords.

For raiding, your gear doesn't hurt, but its not optimal. You want to go the other way, and start raising your hit rating, which is something that PvP gear is lacking. Your weapons aren't bad for starting Kara, but again, S2 weapons would be better.

Theo's guides could really help to point you in the right direction regarding gems, enchants and spec.

You've got some work ahead of you. Just some thoughts:

1. Get the S2 Swords. Like yesterday quick. 27k honor. Do it, stat. Mongoose 2x.
2. Trinkets - run BM or Mech to pick up the Hourglass or Abacus, accordingly.
3. After S2 swords, keep running BG's for the Vindicator/Guardian pieces
4. Enchants - I wouldn't spend any money on more (other than rings, and your an EC) until you upgrade your gear
5. Gems - No meta gem. Fix quickly. The rest I'd wait until you upgrade gear.
6. Get an arena team with some of your guildies. Even if you lose each week, it's still free points. The brutal gloves have no requirements. No reason not to have them.

Hope this helps.

Someone above wrote about going maces/fists instead of swords. IT DOES NOT MATTER if its a mace/sword/or fist given they have equal stats.

Read Theo's Rogue PVP FAQ. If you still have questions post some more specifics. As for your PVE in PvP, if you want to PvP right you will go 20/0/41 (sub talents are pretty set in stone theres a little bit u can tinker with in assassination tree, not much: see theo's guide). If you want to PvE right you will go 20/41/0. I personally would get s2 SWORDS over maces or fists because this allows you to switch back and forth from PvP to PvE and be able to use the Sword Spec bonus while not gimping you in PvP.

If you have full S2 and brutal gloves and proper PvP enchants (ie only about 80 hit) then your similar to my rogue. When i respec combat and do instances (did one raid too in hyjal just because i came on late so didnt go from start with my main and they wanted 10 more seconds from a distract) I put out 1k dps and was the last one alive (go huge stamina). I missed 20% of the time which is why my dps was so low, but that should tell you that you can do any heroic in PvP gear if you respec, and some you can do sub if you have a good group to carry your dps impaired ***.

Actually it does.

If you compare s2 swords, fists and maces you will see that s2 swords are always on first place when it comes to PvE. In PvE swords are always better. Of course weapons should be on same level, for example it is stupid to compare s1 swords with s3 maces, because in this case maces will be obviously better.
Similiar situation: badge fists and s2 swords. Vadge fists are better than s2 swords, but s3 swords (they have about same lvl as badge fists) will be better than badge fists.

Best way to check what will be better is to use spreadsheet.

BTW: AtrophyGFour wrote "You may want to look into a hemo spec if you are doing BGs exclusively, and maybe go with maces or fists instead of swords." (and yes, he was talking about bgs).

This thread is about PvP, Drayna. The OP stated that he doesn't raid.

Weapons do not matter in the slightest in PvP, especially with Blizzard taking mace stuns out of the game, come WotLK.

In essence, farm honor until you're caught up with at least s2. In the meantime, throw together some garbage arena team and make sure that you're getting points each week.

Also, show nameplates (v) and go for the guy who's about to die anyway.
