Guys you helped me a lot in a previous about the best way to use my pet on bosses in SSC.
We are now in TK and im after similar advice. Void reaver is on farm so I have no problem with him.
I dont have T5 bonus yet so keeping pet up appears (from kill videos)to be my biggest problem, could I please ask the great and the good in this forum how and when to use Nasty (my pet)against the bosses in TK.
Thanks in advance

I used my pet on all bosses, you just have to know when to call him back. The big bad bird (Al'ar) does an AOE that will kill him and when I did solarium I just have to watch where people ran when they were the bomb. Grand Astromancer Capernian AOE's melee so you want to pull pet off him. My pet was on Lord Sanguinar since he is a tank and spank or Master Engineer Telonicus. When we raided this part guild could careless where my pet was because he was most likely gonna die a few times.

Send your pet at Void Reaver, mend him, hope for a resto shaman.

Send your pet at Solarion or the priests. He is not a valid target for Wrath, and even if he is not immune to the explosion of Wrath, it wouldn't matter. If your pet gets blown up, the melee did too. It's probably a wipe. Edit: Not to forget, your pet is immune to knockback, so also the launch into the air, and should be taking half damage from AoE. He wouldn't be killed anyway.

Send your pet at anything in the Kael fight except Capernian and Telonicus. Her AoE will kill it, as will his Bomb. Other than them, have it help out the melee.

And keep him away from everything that whirlwinds or arcane flurries. Three hit death, at most.

If you have all points in Avoidance the AoE's shouldn't kill your pet, as long as you get it out quickly.

Other than that, just be able to call your pet back when it is needed.

Make your "follow" keybinding very easy to hit, and get very familiar with it. You can also try out a /petfollow /mend pet macro that will do it all in one keystroke, but once you get your T5 bonus, it won't really be necessary.

The biggest things with pets in a raiding situation is bringing the appropriate one with the appropriate spec. For example, keep one pet maxed out in Fire Resist for Al'ar it works wonders and keeps your pet up longer without having to keep him constantly healed. For Void Reaver you may want to go with a pet with Arcane Resist (helped me out a ton when I was actually fighting him). Avoidance is also huge, and regardless of what pet you bring they should always have this talent maxed out.

Your typical pet should have the following skills:

Avoidance - Rank 2
Cobra Reflexes - Rank 1
Random DPS ability - Rank Highest*
Bite - Rank 9 (if possible)
Resist - Rank 5**
Stamina - Rank Highest***

*Now this varies depending on the pet obviously, can range from Gore to Lightning Breath, to Claw, but any type of focus dump is what you're looking for to add the most damage for your pet.

**This varies depending on fight as to what you should spec it for. Examples:
Void Reaver - Max Arcane Resist
Al'ar - Max Fire Resist
Mother Sharaz - Max Shadow Resist
Kalcegos - Max Arcane Resist

These are just highly suggested for these bosses. You can do it without the resists sure, but this makes it much easier.

***Basically whatever points you have left you want to invest into more stamina for your pet. Armor is pointless in a raid because if your pet is tanking something, more then likely you're already FD on the floor and the raid is in the middle of a wipe. Or you accidentally clicked "Attack" and now your pet is about to wipe the whole raid... not that anyone's ever done that before.

Growl - up to you, it's a freebie anyway and won't cost any points to give it the max rank, but you also don't want your pet taunting things in a raid either. Just please remember to take it off Auto-Cast =P

Cower - Hardly ever used (right now). May prove to be more useful with the new expansion talents but only time will tell. Definitely not worth the points invested though (in the expansion all pets receive Growl, Cower, and Claw as base abilities anyway).

This is the biggest key factor to pet survivability currently. Know what kind of damage your pet will be taking in a given encounter and spec them for maximum resistance to that damage type. It might become necessary to keep several pets specced for different resistances, in case you need to switch between bosses.

The only problem I ever experienced in TK with Raico is during the Al'ar fight. During phase one, Al'ar would just randomly whack him and kill him in one hit. Growl is always off and I even tried keeping sprint off so he doesn't get to her too quickly but it just kept happening. Not sure why, but other than that... just keep mend pet up and you should be fine. :3

Al'ar doesn't have threat on the new tank in the first transitions, but he does have threat on your pet. Since both the pet and the new tank are at the tanking position, Al'ar will attack your pet instead.

When I'm there, I usually see the other hunters not using their pet at all, but just keeping it out.. I can see why, when I get stuck rezzing mine 4 or 5 times over the whole fight.

I'm giving him huge fire resist next time TK comes up..
