take the talent, get a proc. read the proc. it says it only affects your shadow direct damage spells. 100% certain

Negative, It still effects our shadow damage DoTs-Direct from tooltip:
Your Shadow Bolt critical strikes increase Shadow damage dealt to the target by 10% until 4 non-periodic damage sources are applied. Effect lasts a maximum of 12 sec.

Edit: Crap, supposedly hes right, I can't find the exact tooltip or anything saying it only effects direct dmg but a lot of people saying that it doesn't. Only other thing I can think of, which would still make it useless, is if you have to reapply the DoT's after you crit, therefore basically wasting ISB anyways. Taken from patch notes:

-Improved Shadow Bolt (Destruction) - Now increases damage by your next Shadow damage spells

Therefore still making it pointless....

WRONG. that's the TALENT tooltip. read what the BUFF says. which is that it's only direct damage shadow spells

Yeah...not only does that suck, but it was uneccessary... Why nerf that?! They didn't even mention it in the notes... oh well, back to 56/0/5 it is...

Hm, no wonder I'd read (albeit briefly) that Molten Core might actually be a better talent for affliction, since ISB uptime would be difficult to keep up, having only two direct damage shadow spells to spam, and with an insane dot rotation in between.

As I said, I haven't actually played my lock much, outside retalenting, checking mail, and ... well, that's it. I've logged in once in the last week while I try to find a new guild off server.

Was looking at the 56/0/5 build free trial put up, and was wondering if it wouldn't be better to drop Soul Siphon and Malediction in favor of Imp CoA, Imp Fel Hunter and another free point to put somewhere, Imp HS Maybe?

Drains are not used in raids, so Soul Siphon is worthless
Malediction/CoE can be replaced by other classes buffs now can't it?

If we aren't casting CoE, then CoA is obviously the best choice now, since Amplify Curse doesn't really bring CoD in line with CoA anymore correct?

Imp Fel Hunter just so he's out there doing something, instead of having an Imp sit there and do nothing.

Imp HS, with potions only usable once per combat now, this improves the whole raids "second potion."

Edit: Oh yeah, I'm playing again, got a ZA run tonight. Funny thing, I havn't touched WAR in about a week and was just watching a lot more TV. So last night, while I was watching TV my g/f logged in to WoW just to say hi to people and got invited to ZA. She asked me if I wanted to go too and they had a spot for me. So after pulling WoW back across the network(I re-installed winblows not too long ago) and getting a workable UI set-up, I guess I play WoW again.
