Gorewood Bow -- worth picking up?Follow

Currently using the Verdant Keeper's Aim for my 57 hunter, and I'm wondering if it's worth getting the Gorewood Bow as a replacement before I head to Outland, or if I'll be picking up a new ranged weapon so quickly it won't matter. Alliance side, so the quest is sort of a pain, but I think I could get my husband and a few guildies to help out.

(I have been trying to get the Bloodseeker, but it doesn't look like that's happening anytime soon--I'm going to keep doing AVs for however long it takes to get my quiver, but after that I'm done, and good riddance. 7 more failing pugs to go, yay.)

If i remember my outland quests right, you get a new ranged weapon like the first 2nd or third quest in HFP, so I wouldn't really worry about trying to up grade your weapon. Plus as been stated in numerous posts before, you'll probably go through at least 3 or 4 ranged weapons on your run to 70 in outlands so in truth as a hunter I'd head there now and just grind on some of the felboars and the carrion birds to lvl you off to 58

You'll be picking up a Crossbow when doing a quest from Cenarion Expedition in Hellfire Peninsula. It's a Night Elf gathering near the main road eastwards towards Zangarmarsh. I can't remember the exact questlines, but I think you have to do a few quests from them before you get the Crossbow.

Do get yourself to Revered with CE while leveling though, for Headpiece enchant.

You also get a bow from Honor Hold. There is a tower right outside of it that has a few quest NPCs. I did the quest a few days ago on my warlock. I can't remember exactly what it was, but I do remember that all the quests from that tower are easy.

Then you can get the one from the quest that North is talking about.

Then you can get one from a few Marks of Honor Hold by doing the PvP daily there.

Then you can get from almost every instance there.

TBC practically throws ranged weapons at us.

Thanks, that's good to know. :)

I do very much like the look of it, so I might end up getting it anyway, but I won't stress over it. And I'm planning to grind up to Exalted with CE for the hippogryph mount anyway, starting as soon as I can do the very first quests, so getting the one from them should be no trouble.^^

I'm getting my quiver first, then I think I will just kill boars till I level. I can skin them, anyway, so no reason not to.

Check WoWwiki's site on how to most efficiently farm various faction's rep. Just doing all the quests without planning ahead makes for a harder time hitting exalted. My Druid messed that up, and had to spend quite a few hours more than she would normally have to.

At some point (can't remember exactly when) you'll be far better off grinding some turn-in items until you hit a rep cap, before doing quests. You ought to do this with all factions you plan on hitting Exalted with, to save time.

Turn in unidentified plant parts - repeatable quest until honored. Do this before doing any CE quests and you will be revered after completing the questlines in hellfire/zanger/blades edge. The parts are cheap on AH too, 50g is enough to buy all the parts to do this.

Save uncatalogued parts until honored as you can still turn in for rep.

Most of the other rep stuff is up to you. Grind at the beginning with instances or grind at the end with instances. I find it easier to instance grind at 70 than at level so I would recommend doing it after all the questlines are completed.
