Playing as a Destruction Warlock...Follow

All I can say is I love it. I spent the weekend in BGs and Instances specced as 0/21/40 fire and raped almost anything in my path as long as I got the jump or the tank kept aggroe.

Instances: I did some auchindoun and a heroic trying to gear up for kara. If the tank kept aggroe, the mobs went down like a hot knife through butter. There were times though when the threat reduction from destructive reach and soulshatter just wouldn't cut it (mainly due to bad tanks such as one using Quel'Serrar due to its proc with the justification that survivability is more important than threat generation...). Oh and I love balance druids, that 5% is a huge difference in damage. Fire mages are awesome too, 4k crits FTW!

Battlegrounds: This is where I enjoyed this build the most. I spent some time juggling pets and demo sac to see which one would fit my needs best. In AV it came to sacced VW due to lack of healers and having to lifetap quite a bit. In point based games (AB and EotS) I would help defend the nodes on the roads b/w the bases and ran w/ succy out.
Seduce > Soul Fire > Immolate > Incinerate > Conflagrate > (Shadowburn) > /dance
I never used CoEles or trinkets because this combo was more than plenty to kill most people in the BGs.

I know I didn't really have the stats for destro, but I was stubborn enough to spec it anyways, and I thoroughly enjoyed it too. The only thing I feel is holding me back is mana. I could run Insig of Horde/underbog sporegarr shroom in BGs, but 200 mana doesnt feel that empowering. Anyway, I just wanted to share my destro experiences with you guys, and maybe inspire a few people :)

With 67 hit rating you do nothing in kara.
A destro warlock is efficient after hitcap (202 hit)... these days i think you can get there with badges gear tho... back in the days is was better to stay affliction till MH/BT and switch then...after you have 202 hit and like 20% crit for start.

Anyhow, i with you luck.

for kara as destro, you can actually do fine with around 170-180 Spell Hit. Granted, a Destro Lock with 202 will out do you, but with 170ish, you can do about the same as Destro as an Affliction build with 170ish and same Dam/Crit.

Yea, I just wanted to give destro a shot. I'm probably going to be moving back to UA soon (41/9/11). Its fun and all, but I really miss pvping effectively while holding my own on the damage meters.

Destro's fun, but really, as with any other spec, if you seriously intend to both PvP and PvE, you really ought to respec for each objective. Destro is *not* mana efficient, and contrary to popular belief, neither is Affliction. Affliction is just far more self-sufficient. I value 0/5/56 for PvP very highly on the "fun" factor, but it really only shines in BGs and world pvp - and only in BGs with a pocket healer.
