Keep mob special abilities?Follow

#1 Aug 23 2008 at 10:25 PM Rating: Decent
If a beast mob, likely an elite, has a special ability, will it keep that ability, when tamed?

For example:

Deathskitter (giant spider) is a lvl 64 elite mob in Outlands. Petopia says it's immune to frost traps. If it was to be tamed, would it keep it's immunity to frost traps?

Nope, once you tame a pet it can only have the abilities of it's class of pet. The only difference between a hard to get pet or elite and a normal regular mob is the way it looks.

Not really a special ability, but the Shadowmoon Valley scorpids will keep their fire resist, but you can never re-train them or they'll lose it.

In the olden days, pre patch 1.9, some animals kept their special abilities. Lupos was my fav back when.

I was a fan of brokentooth, bestial wrath, and frenzy on cloth before normalization.
