ok my warlock is pretty geared PvP and PvE, and in PvP I was wondering when, if ever does SL/SL get old, for example, in arena is it that much better than 43/7/11, or is that only good for 3's and 5's

SL / SL forever imo. Takes less skill in a 2v2 you virtually must be this spec, in a 3v3 if its 3 DPS maybe go for something more burst related, but if with a healer you want to out last them so SL / SL again is better. In a 5v5 it can all change slightly i am felguard + shadow burn + instant corruption (can't be bother to link. But this allows me to do lots of damage in a short time of being exposed. My 5v5 is me, MS warrior, Frost mage, Resto druid, Resto Shammy. However i have seen many high rated warlocks as sl /sl in a 5v5 and its good because if they become the focus of attention then they can last for a long time.

For PvP, as the poster above me mentioned it's great for 2v2 and 3v3, and it can work in 5v5 though there are better options. I will defer to anyone else on PvP as that's not my thing though.

For PvE, SL/SL has no place in PvE. PvE your job is to cause damage. SL/SL is about survivability. In PvE, especially raids, survivability is the concern on the tanks/healers, your job is to bring the pain. SL/SL does crap damage.
