Level 29 ResistanceFollow

#1 Aug 21 2008 at 6:33 PM Rating: Decent
I was looking at my lv 29 night elf rogue (drenden baby) and noticed that all of my resistances are "poor" for my level. At my level should they be higher or does it become more of a factor at higher levels?

Should I keep different rings (arcane, nature, fire resistant) in my inventory and switch them out per situation?

Is the solution just getting better armor with built in resistance? I haven't seen any yet...

Resistance gear isn't really an issue until you get to a high level. Even then there are only a few raids that require resistance gear.

As a rogue you should never gear for resistance while leveling. Ever.

When I was low-level trying to increase my enchanting, I got all excited about getting +5 resistance to all on my cloak. I spent all my money on mats and then told my lvl 70 friends...and got laughed at. Looking back, I shoulda been /gkicked.

Resistances are a fairly odd mechanic in WoW. While they're nice to have, and "good" resistance against 1 school of magic is a nifty trinket, it's just impossible to obtain a number high enough to be of use without giving up much needed stats like agility. And like Thomas said, even at 70, there's only a few raids in which you actually nééd resistance. I've been wondering about the stat for a fair bit, I reckon blizzard should make it a bit easier to accumulate resistance. Double the amount enchants give or such for example. Perhaps even give it use at the lower levels.

Doesn't that make one of the Night Elf Race Bonuses (+10 Nature Resistance) worthless?

Every race has a +10 resistance.

They are all pointless :)
