Switching in game sounds?Follow

In WoW I know there are pet cats from the barrens that make a growling sound sometimes when the yawn. This sound file for the yawn is someplace in the World of Warcraft sounds folder. Therefore if I found the file and changed it's name into the file for say, kazzak yelling, When my kitty yawned it would yell the kazzak line instead. The only way this would work is if blizzard makes action reference sounds in the directory. Does anyone know if that is the case?

I'm not sure if that's the case. I've never really thought about it. But do remember that, even if you got all this to work, you'd be the only one who heard the sound as anything other than the regular yawn/growl. If you want to do it just for you then power to ya... Hopefully Blizz doesn't have a thing against it, for your sake :P

It's kinda pointless if you want players around the world to hear your kitty sound like Kazzak though because their files will be all set up in the regular way.

It is possible, but it only works for you. No one else would hear the change. Most people who change the sounds make things LESS annoying, though. An example would be turning down gun fires a few decibels.

I just forget what the program used to do this is called. I don't think that it's possible without the program, either. The sounds are stored either in one of the .mpq or .wdb files.
