Looking for some BG adviceFollow

I have a level 19 hunter that I'm going to keep at this level for a while to get some BG experience (and at some point I'll move her up to level 29). I have a couple of questions for the BG experts (and btw I have read the guides on this and other sites):

1. Right now I have five points in Endurance Training and the rest unallocated. I'm not sure whether this is the best place for the five as the pet generally gets ignored and everyone focusses on the hunter (understandably). Some guides suggest the 2/5/3 build with two in Endurance Training, five in Lethal Shots and three in Humanoid Slaying. I can see the benefit of Lethal Shots and Humanoid Slaying, but wouldn't I be better served by two points in Efficiency, Imp. Concussive Shots or Hawk Eye (I'm leaning towards Efficiency)? Assuming that kind of build, what would be the talent progression to level 29?

2. I'm using a Ravager right now as a pet. A boar seems like it might be a better choice for its charge capability. Is that a reasonable or should I stick with the high-DPS pet?

Thanks.

So you want to be a twink? Get good gear. Fight other twinks. Beat the non-twinks. Yay fun.

Thanks for the valuable response :( Actually I have no intention of creating a twink. I have neither the cash for lots of blue gear, nor a high-level friend to run me through instances.

I have decent green gear now and a couple of blues that I got on the AH for bargain prices. Based on my experience so far, I can be effective as-is.

Get Imp Conc Shot, and Imp Wing Clip. It seems to work for some in PvP, and for low level PvP the stuns would be great.

So basically the suggestion you've seen is this type of build:

Level 19 Twinky Build

From a pvp stand point this gives you better damage toward your opponents with just slightly more HP for yourself for survivability, you could opt to put 2 points into efficiency instead of Endurance Training. However I wouldn't change up Lethal Shots or Humanoid Slaying. Imp. Conc Shot to me would be the way to go as your leveling up from a BG stand point. Just make sure to pump one out every time the cooldown is up. Then it's really a matter of preference on your part if you want Aimed Shot (for the annoying healers in BG's) or Efficiency for extra shots. Or perhaps a mix of both, so 4 into Efficiency and 1 into Aimed Shot.

Low level BG's are about what you use most often. If you hardly use Concussive shot, then don't get the talent. If you're using more Arcane Shots you may want to consider investing into Imp. Arcane Shot to shave off another second on the cooldown. You only get 10 more talent points so it's rather difficult to decide.

This again is up to you. At such a low level you really don't notice the damage difference between either pet. Charge is great for that 1 second immobolize which can buy you a little time to get back into ranged, or allow you to catch up to some one for that extra concussive shot to slow them down. I personally would opt for the boar at this low level, but that's me. I've always loved having my boar for just the annoyance factor of charge. No pets receive the "Dash" or "Dive" ability at level 19, and the boar is really the only pet that can close the gap on your enemies in a split second.

Just my 2 copper.

Thanks for the response. I usually open with Concussive Shot followed by Serpent Sting and Arcane Shot. I'll keep firing Arcane Shots then repeat Concussive Shot when the cooldown is up. If the target is tough then I may reapply SS as well. The only problem I've run into is running out of mana when I've had to take on a couple of targets solo. But that doesn't happen too often to Imp Concussive Shot may be a better bet.

It does get a little tricky picking talents at these low levels. I want to pick good PvP talents but not handicap myself for leveling (or force respecs).

I agree with you on this. There have been lots of cases where Charge to stop a runner and allow me to get within range for a Conc. Shot.

You pose an unusual idea: stay 19 for a while but not twink.

I understand you are looking for BG experience, but most folks get this as they level and don't decide to 'stay' at a x9 level to do it. This is because at an x9 level, you set yourself up for being target that 'should' be powerful but as a non-twink, the twinks will own you from start to finish down there in those levels.

Most folks see two logical choices: become a twink or move on. You can always advance a twink later on if you get bored, thus supporting the 'become a twink' option. "Move on" gives you levelling as well as BG play.

Personally, I don't like to BG until I am at an x4 or better level. Anything below a 4 gets pounded so fast by the x8's and x9's that it's not funny. So I'd BG for a while as a 19 but experience out of it and then go grind 5 levels and hop back into the BG's. That is, if you still don't want to twink. If you feel you can, then stay 19 for a bit, get the easy twink stuff and survive a bit longer in that range.

Just some thoughts there...

I started playing BGs at about level 13-14 and didn't feel like I was adding much value to the team. So I stopped playing until I was level 17. Now that I'm level 19 I find I can hold my own against all but the twinks. Since I'm enjoying BGs right now, I figure I'll stay at this level for a while, at least until I've played more than WSG and acquired enough honor/marks to acquire some PvP gear. Then I'll probably do as you did - quickly level to 25-26 then start playing again.
