Gearing up......advice? (PvE)Follow

I'm only level 55 so gear isn't too much of an issue just yet for me. But I plan on plowing through the last 15 levels pretty fast.

My armory is here. I like Affliction and I don't plan on changing any time soon (though if you want to critique my talents feel free). My ultimate goal to is to make this toon my main and start raiding.

Since I am an Engineer I have already built my 62 head piece. But, when I start nearing 70, what gear should I be working to get? Are there any Pre-Kara gear guides out there (I didn't see many gear references in the stickies)? I don't mind PvPing to get a few pieces if need be and rep grinding shouldn't be much of an issue.

Suggestions?

Only thing I'd change is taking imp Howl of Terror ,it's really useful skill.

like shoarmakip said, I think your build could do with a change. Instant HoT and Fel concentraion are good talents.
And take some points off Supression. 2/5 is enough (3/5 if you are fighting higher level mobs, but that shouldn't be the case once you get to 60 or so).

trust me the last 3 lvls or so are extremely extremely slow even if you've got a good amount of rested xp.

as far as gear goes, if you're a tailor, or have a tailor on any of your toons, the frozen shadoweave set is nice, and the spellstrike set that drops off of murmur and the first boss in shattered halls is also a good combo; the spellstrike can be made by anyone and bought or traded for mats.

Non crafted gear, probably running the big 70's instances like vaults, slabs and shattered halls usually gives you a piece or two. Might want to try and have someone on here link you the link to the lock site, can't remember the name right off the top of my head, but I remember that there was a good gear, enchant and gem list for anyone wanting to try kara or do some serious damage in heroics

The 70 goggles are so nice, so very nice....

The link above to Warlock's Den is good but leans toward a Destro build when rating gear after t4 (which is the common progression). Overall it's solid but make intelligent choices if you choose to stay Affliction.

My suggestion (and it's only a suggestion) for a pure raid utility affliction build.

Here's one that I use when I'm still on CoE duty but the tank is over-geared... utility affliction with more damage.

Most warlocks move to a destro build sometime during t5/badge gear. But you're generally better off raiding t4 content as affliction.

Happy hunting and here's to phat lootz!

Unless you plan on doing some serious pvping, consider dropping engineering for enchanting. I know a lot of people don't like this since engineering costs a lot to level but enchanting your rings will always give you more dps over the head gear from engineering as long as you have a head gear around the same item level as the engineering ones.

You'll also have to eventually drop mining for tailoring. While, you will replace FSW with badgegear/t6 the benefits tailoring gives you before and after that content can not be ignored.
You can easily gear up with just badge/kara/crafted gear and be tier 5 ready. Heck, toss in some za gear and you're t6 ready.
