1. get 2 slow 1H weapons (around 2.6)
2. get as many mail items with either str. or stam. on them (of the bear i believe?)
(scarlet monestary loot is good for this..)
3. use stormstrike and hope for as many WF procs and crits as you can get.
4. gloat over your enemy's or loot the mob :)

and remember to put windfury on BOTH weapons (click the button twice)
(i realised i only used 1 WF from 40 - 60 when i 'accidently' clicked the WF buff twice while lvling in outlands.. kinda sucked :p)

Just left the 49 bracket last night. One thing you can count on is payback for all the times rogues tore you apart in the lower brackets. Purge druid hots and shields while teammates take them out (or pop a shock at the last minute to snatch the KB if that's your thing). Dropping back and healing when no one is paying attention to you and getting the attention of all enemies in the area the first chain heal or chain lightening you cast. It's almost like a movie when the spell jumps and everyone seems to slowly spin to face you and charges in your direction. Shaman in 49's has been the most fun for me in the bg's so far.

AS far as spec I just used the generic leveling spec from wowwiki. Gear, I have a couple of blue maces and regular green AH and quest gear. Nothing special. Gonna respec resto now to learn how to heal before I hit Hellfire. I think this may be the most fun class in any game I've ever played.

Good advice so far.

A couple weapons like this would make for much fun, just as an example.

Talents: There is really no reason to put a point in any tree but enhancement at this level. I was even 0/50/0 when I pvp'd a bunch at 59.

As for specifics, check the shaman faq, the build there for enhance hits the key talents, except that for pvp you may want to skip Enhancing Totems in favor of Guardian Totems (you drop lots of grounding totems in pvp), and I also prefer Toughness over Anticipation for pvp (for the reduction in movement impairing effects, one of our biggest weaknesses).

BGs: There is a good pvp guide on the o-boards for shamans.

Basically, your most important totems are poison cleansing (against rogues and hunters), grounding (against casters), tremor (against fear from priests, locks, and warriors), earthbind (to slow enemies when defending and/or when you dont think a fear is likely), and searing (little dps but it helps to keep rogues in combat and prevent restealth unless they blow vanish and, also, to prevent a flag cap if they sap you).

Don't be afraid to equip a shield when facing physical damage (like rogues, hunters, and warriors), especially when you are defending in WSG or AB and a rogue may get the opener on you. You will still do serious damage but survive (enjoy it now, late 60s and 70 you will be rogue food unless you have awesome gear, and even then . . .). A shield swap macro is key.

Otherwise, stormstrike, earth/frost shock (flame shock first on rogues to prevent vanish [at this level anyways, later they can cloak and vanish]), and purge, purge, purge.

Finally, get an addon that keeps track of your windfury, shock, and stormstrike cooldowns, like wf3sec, and visit elitistjerks.com to learn enhance shaman mechanics.

Enjoy. Enhance shamans are powerhouses in 60 and under pvp (they can still be effective later, but it requires much more skill and gear and luck and the alignment of the stars . . .).

EDITS: Fixing the link.

Great advice.

I hit 40 and re-specc'd out of sheild specialization and into mana and then of course hit my dual wield at lev 40. The worst thing is that their weren't any level 40 weapons available and I had to settle for some off base maces around level 34/36 that weren't real strong in Strength and Stamina. Additionally one was 2.1 and the other 2.2 on speed; I didn't see anything available in the preferred 2.6 range.

Regardless, I proc'd WF multiple times and watched the health drop off mobs like a leaky bucket... it was insane! I started to feel silly using any LB's or FS's as I mowed thru mobs, fun stuff. I'm going to check WoW armory for my weapon upgrades ASAP and get after it. Once I hit 46 I think I'll try some BG's to see how my guy does.

OH! I need to wait to level to 41 for stormstrike! That is just crazy; it seems a little OP with the right maces and new mail gear but I'll take it.
