Kinda depends on your spec though.

The best pally-made addon I run with is Pallypower, it's basically a tool that allows you to order your buffs per class.
I'd really recommend it for raiding and grouping. The rest of your addons depend on spec, I'm holy and I can also recommend you Grid and Clique, it's easy to setup and use, definetely should let you heal better.

Waddya think is better, Grid/Clique or Healbot?

Healbot comes with both sets of functionality built in is all.

I've tried them both and I like Grid over Healbot because the raid/party interface is a lot smaller and provides me with the information i need:

- Debuffs
- Aggro
- Who's being healed and who isn't

All I need, but in the end it all comes down to personal taste.

Healbot can give you everything you need to heal.

Grid gives you more information, but it's not always needed. Once I converted to Grid, I never looked back at Healbot. However, I like to keep track of lots of things (above and beyond the necessities for healing).

Those are the basic differences.

Omen.

Everyone needs Omen.

Especially pally tanks in T5 raids. I am going to slap that guy if the RL tries telling me again not to pull aggro when I can't even tell how much the tank has.

all pallies should have: pallypower and Omen

holy pallies should have: healbot or grid

ret pallies should have: quartz (or another swing timer)

pallies with multiple gear sets should have the addons for whatever task they have gear for and outfitter.

raiding pallies should have deadly boss mods or another similar addon

prot pallies might want tankpoints (other specs may want similar addons for dps/heal gear)

Na. Pitbull + mouseover macros work just as great.

Why do you recommend that?

Because half the artistry of Ret DPS is weaving your Judgements around your swings so you don't miss out on Seal procs. Without a swing timer you have to pretty much guess, which means lost procs and a commensurate DPS reduction.

Quartz also has a lag display, so you can more accurately time stuff with server latency included.

I use X-Perl and mouseovers. Love it for 10/25 man raids, but in five mans I heal better using the F1-5 keys for targeting. I think that's just a matter of finessing my keybinds though.

[edit] Forgot to add -- I scoffed initially at the notion of Pally Power until I got it and used it in tandem with other Paladins who have it -- very nice! If you're just running five mans it's not really necessary, but it's great once you start running bigger things.

I never healed on my paly (he's only 46...) but on my druid, when I'm resto, I was using Grid + Clique. I find it easier to setup than the mouseover macro (I hate searching for the right icons =)). I redid my UI lately and let go of Grid and Pitbull to go with XPerl. So next time I'll heal it will be XPerl + Clique.

I tried Healbot, I found out I wanted another addon to display more information and found that Grid could be configured to show what I wanted easily. And it takes much less space than Healbot. Why XPerl now? I really don't know, maybe I'm trying to reduce the number of addons I have. The raid layout is pretty small and WAY less configuration option than pitbull!

Are there mandatory? Of course not, but in the end, it saves time and make things easier!
