Macros and CheekyFollow

#1 Aug 15 2008 at 12:55 AM Rating: Good
Okay gotta a new question for you all. I am looking at the shot rotation on cheeky's and I understand what it is saying, but how do I translate that into a macro? I am using the cookie cutter macros listed in the pre-raid sticky and I noticed with the /castrandom it likes to lead off with one of the shots listed from there first instead of the first line.

Hit rating is up to 64 now and I am understanding cheeky other than the rotations. Also what is the dragonspine trophy about?

Which shot rotation are you trying to turn into a macro?

1:1 Priority using arcane and steady.

I am still learning quite a bit and trying to understand the macro system in game, its a bit complicated. I never really messed with any of it until now because of raiding.

I think you can do:

#showtooltip Steady Shot
/script UIErrorsFrame:Hide()
/castsequence reset=3 !Auto Shot, Arcane Shot, !Auto Shot, Steady Shot, !Auto Shot, Steady Shot
/cast [exists,target=pettarget,nodead] Kill Command
/script UIErrorsFrame:Clear(); UIErrorsFrame:Show()

I use something very similar for the 1:1.x rotation: Auto, Steady, Arcane, Auto, Steady, Auto, Steady and it works just fine. I just looked at the shot sequence generated by Cheeky's and determined the repeating part of the rotation, then put that into the castsequence line. I'm a macro nub and there may be a better way to do it, but it works for me.

Yeah... I did a castsequence for my 1:1 priority with Arcane and Multi. Works pretty well for the most part.

But don't just copy and paste what someone else wrote. Write down the order that the shots show up in for your character. Cheeky's Spreadsheet automatically adjusts the priority and 1:1.5 shot rotations for your particular attack speed. What's right for 1 person may not be right for you.

great I will give it a run tonight after work. Thanks for your help again.

well I gave that macro a go and I must of entered it wrong, because all it wants to do is a single arcane shot and then repeat auto shot until the creature dies.

you do know that you have to spam the button for the macro to work right? It isn't a press the button once and it does the rest type of thing. It may have been very obvious to you, just making sure so I hope no offense is taken.

nah I dont know anything about macros, but I was assuming that creating a macro eliminated the need for mashing keys.

The DST is an uber trinket for hunters/rogues mainly. It drops off the T4 boss Gruul the Dragonslayer in Gruul's Lair, BEM.

It's a rare drop and much prized by hunters such as myself as it adds 40 AP + a proc that grants 325 Haste.

I have one. It's more precious to me than my first born. Now, if only Leo would stop being such a stingy prick....

Cheeky's can calculatye shotrotations for you, but not macro's.
Simply because that is pretty much impossible.

1:1 priority isnt hard to hand time though. :P

yeah that is what I am doing now. I am at a deadlock on parties as well thanks to my system memory. I am using the time to get to know macros better, get that epic mount I have been wanting for 5 months, and gear up better. Side question (because I am too lazy tonight to make a new thread lol), If I have the talent that buffs my mounted speed and I decide to use a riding crop does the crop override the talent or vice versa?

Speed increasing effects/talents/proccs/trinkets/whatever doesn't stack.
#14 Aug 17 2008 at 1:17 PM Rating: Good
right I am aware of that. I am wanting to know the priority for the speed buffs. I would assume talents have the highest priority.

ahh okay I just didn't really notice a boost from the crop, so I figured the talent was overriding it.
