Ive been through a few guides for leveling and they say that the warrior is the slowest for leveling. Is this true? How difficult would leveling solo be? I am not worried about grouping since I know warriors are in demand, thanks.

when i leveled my warrior i didnt find it slow at all. i could only play in the evenings due to work and i beat my friends(who were level 52 when i created my warrior) to level 70 and they were playing most of the day because they're on summer vacation.

Warriors are not slow or difficult to level. The biggest reasons that people say that are:

1) No healing (unless your Draenei)
2) More gear dependent. If your gear is not up to par while leveling, then you will have a harder time.

Either way, you can level just fine.

Are alchemy/herbalism good professions for a warrior? Also, have you ever had trouble finding a group slot because there are too many warriors?

Alch/Herb is a great profession combo for any class. Although picking flowers in plate armor is a little "girly". :) Just kidding.

There are never too many tanks. However, finding a spot as a DPS warrior can be a bit more difficult. Lots of people still don't like DPS warriors. Yes, they are idiots, but that is just how it is most of the time. /shrug

I leveled my warrior 1 to 70 as prot the whole way, mostly questing solo until 60 when I started doing some regular instance runs with guild mates, and did so in under 10 days /played time.

My mage, who are said to be "much" faster, took me a little less than 8 days /played time; however, I spent no time in instances at all.

I've seen hunters regularly do it in about 7, adn hunters are considered to be the fastest and easiest class to level.

So, yes, they are slower -- about 140% the time of the best leveling class.

But when you look at what the actual time commitment is, the difference is trivial.

It is not difficult to level on any class using any spec in the game.

It works too. You can make a killer set of googles, tanking gun, flying mount helicopter thingy =)

It's pretty spendy, and I highly suggest you go Engineering/Mining so you can farm your nodes (I'm sure you planned on it anyway).

What do you mean tanking gun? And is Blacksmithing not as good as buying armor?

tanking gun basically means a gun that has loads of stamina on it.

Anyway, I recently rerolled a mage who got to level 16ish. Then I rolled my first ever warrior who flew to level 16 much faster than that mage did. I don't know about the 20-60 march yet, but so far I've been flying through levels mainly due to the fact that I have hardly any downtime and can roll from one mob to the next and just become a killing machine. Though I have died like a 1000 times more than the mage (man I miss frost nova).

Also, I went herb/alc so I will always have a few buffs from the potions as well as an infinite supply of health potions. I do feel girly picking flowers as a killing machine but I tried to hide that by rolling a chick human.

Blacksmithing is considered the worst profession in the game (for now). Anything you want from it can be bought off the AH. Unless you have a sugar daddy/mommy, you'll want to avoid BS. Of course, this may all change with WotLK. So really - take whatever you want.

that's the key to leveling a warrior.

if you want to know which professions can make the most gear for end-game tanking, it's engineering - trinket + helm + gun. gun is BoE, but the other two are for engineers only. tanks benefit very little from the blacksmith profession; if you are going to be a dps warrior, it's not quite as bad.

however, blacksmithing might be finally getting some love in the expansion so i'm keeping my armorsmithing specialty for now. adding a meta socket to armor would be awesome.

I've gotten to 58 in about 6 days played. I'm new to the game so it's taken me a little longer than if I had been familiar with everything. I still learn new stuff everytime I play. I haven't grouped or done a single instance during the whole time. I personally don't think it has been difficult but I haven't had any other classes to compare to either.

If you enjoy the class it will go pretty fast, so i wouldn't worry about that. First, make sure you read the FAQ's in this forum.

It is only slow if you level as protection....which I may have done.
Let me tell you, it sucked terribly hard. lol. Took me a really, really
long time to get to 70. Deffintaly level as fury or arms. Stay on top
of your gear, replacing it every few levels. Enchant your stuff. And
this is the biggest tip I never had while leveling, level your first
aid so that you have nice bandages to heal yourself with(replaces the
need for a healer while questing), carry healing potions and carry food.
I never did any of that because I didn't know any better. As fury or
arms with those, you will level really fast.

Hit 30 last night in 1 day /played. So 30-60 should be 2 days right??? and I have a mount now so that should be 60% faster so I am expecting to hit 60 in about 1.5 days /played

God that would be great if it were true. Though thus far, I am keeping pace with the hunter I leveled previous to my warrior. There is just so little downtime. Throw up Thunder clap, Demoralizing shout, and then just pound away. The mobs barely touch you (unless you are fighting higher level mobs of course) and then you just charge to the next and bring the pain again. Why didn't I roll Warrior earlier, I'm in freaking love.

Fury FTW! You just destroy stuff! There is some eating and bandaging but unless you are a
Druid there is gonna be.
