What should I get next for pvp ?Follow

#1 Aug 13 2008 at 6:13 AM Rating: Decent
I intend on doing some arena, what should by my next gearing order.Don't count the brutal yet because I don't know what rating I can reach. My partner is a Disc priest that is at start as me, lot of bad gear in his part also.
What items I should get from arena points and honor points?
I was hoping at Vengeful slicer as my first arena points item.
On the next honor item i'm thinking at ring/boots vindicator that is or ?
I will also get 60 badges soon, so the next question is Dory's or Angelista's?
Also I'm aware that the speed bonus from the boots don't stack with the one from the meta , those are my pve boots.
I also have the merc head and pants, but in bgs I tend to go more offensive in gear.

General pattern is to get weapons, non-set (i.e. Vindicator's & Guardians), then set pieces (Merc. Glad, etc) from what I can tell. But I'm no expert. I don't know of any PvPers that wouldn't go weapons first, that's usually the primary upgrade.

For meta/boots go RED and Cat's respectively. Hard to find a better combination and it works great for PvE and PvP.

Rather than ask "which, when", I'd strongly suggest learning mechanics. Start with Theo's PvP guide. I also found this thread on Elitist Jerks very good and chock full of juicy info.

Actually knowing how the class mechanics work is far better than trusting a bunch of thread junkies to tell you what to do with your points.

Good luck!

With your badges - Dorys Embrace over Angelistas. Your current cloak isn't horrible, but Dory's should be a better upgrade.

If your priest isn't doing good in the resilience department a holy/disc hybrid involving blessed resilience would be a better choice IMO.

That is what I did with my priest in arena.

Trinket (20/40 resil), boots, cloak (should be first thing you buy with badges), ring (angelista's and either a s3/s4 ring to go with it), helm, chest.

Socket your helm with RED and put Cat's on your boots as long as you can keep above 79 hit easily.

Your pants and belt are good; no reason to upgrade those until later on (when you do, you may need to go the 24 AP/run speed meta + Surefooted route to keep from socketing retarded amounts of hit). You've also socketed them so you'll have all of your gems ready for AP/Agi on your chest/bracers/neck/helm.

As far as arena items goes, don't buy S3 swords unless you barely make the rating. S4 is a much bigger upgrade (helm for both PvE and PvP) for you. If you make and hold onto 1800 (which should not be hard as disc/rogue, really), then start getting S4 (helm/chest/legs), then pick up your swords.

So you are saying that I should get the 20 trinket then the 40 one or just one of them ?
About the 1800 rating I can't say to much because we are both starters in arena, and we where pve specced and geared until 1 week ago.
Thanks for all the help.

You need PvP trinket no matter what. 40 resil takes more time to get, and those honor points you can spent on other items first. Get 20 resil trinket unless you have ********* of honor points.

Get 20 resil trinket, get other items, get 40 resil trinket.

Check Theo's PvP FAQ and read his other topics.
