Hi, All
I'm a long time reader of these boards but this is my first post. For the longest time, I have been speced Holy (41/20) for my Arena team. All of my gear Stam / Intel with plus spell dmg and plus healing. I've grown a bit tired of the Arena for the time being and am now looking to grind some cash for my epic flyer as well as to run low level friends through instances, etc...

Will doing these things in Holy be viable, or should I respec? If respecing is the way to go, am I going to need all new gear? Thanks!

I'm a holy spec pally too, but I'm only level 32 xD so i wouldnt be much help

just thought I'd say though I get along quite well when going through instances and such with my 15/21 holy :)

hardly any of my gear is +intel or stamina (( well, apart from my rings )) 0_o

I don't think you'd need a gear change, because ur holy spec would be usefull for your lower level friends if they pull tonnes of aggro, and if your enemies are low enough level anyway, you should have absolutely no trouble pwning them :)

might want a bit more help from a little more experience player though xD

hmm, as a 41/20 holy (i'm assuming thats holy prot not holy ret right?) you can probably manage grinding and helping lower levels ok as long as you have a decent spell damage set. however, will it be the MOST efficient way to do it? probably not. if you are going to continue to do pvp you can definitely stay as you are and when solo'ing shock/SoR/JoR pretty well still to kill things at a reaonable pace. a 40/0/21 spec will be faster grinding, and a 5/8/X ret spec will likely be the fastest for grinding your gold for epic flyer. to help lower lvls through instances specc'ing prot may be fastest because of the ease of aoe grinding those instances.

there are lots of options of course. i'd say though unless you have a prot set or a ret set built up, you'd be best off with the 40/0/21 spec for now to maximize your current gear.

toolofjesus is right. I'm assuming you don't want to re-gear, so a Shockadin spec will be your best bet. It kills a bit faster than Holy.

Re-specing full blown Ret won't really help you unless you plan on re-gearing too.

Of course, staying Holy/Prot will be fine too. If you are loaded up with Arena Healdin gear, then you will cruise through the killing of mobs anyway.

This. Presumably you plan to focus on dailies to get your mount money? Your gear/spec won't matter too much for accomplishing >90% of them. You can move your Prot talents to the Ret tree, it'll certainly help a bit and won't require any gear changes, but the choice isn't going to make or break you either way.

I'm in a similar position, would you recommend using a Spell Damage mace, like the Merciless Gavel, or grab the Pummeler for the bigger white hits and throw +Spell Damage enchant on it?

For a Holy build you want spell damage, not "big" white hits.

The additional benefit of spell damage is that armor doesn't affect it. So if I'm hitting a mob with good armor for melee damage reduction, my yellow damage stays consistent. I do cry when I see those rediculously low white hit values, but it's all good :)
