Switching from PVE to PVP - Suggestions ??Follow

#1 Aug 12 2008 at 7:31 AM Rating: Decent
I currently have a Lock that is affliction spec'd. At one time he was grouping and raiding. Since then I have decided to put him into PVP (both BG's and arena's) The questions I have are basic, and any assistance or links to a web site that can help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Besides Resil. what should I be concentrating on as a warlock? (I assume Stamina)

2. What is the best spec to use in BG's / Arena's? (Destro?)

3. If I go towards Destro, what is the minimum spell crit I should have before switching.

4. Does spell hit factor in much in PVP, or is spell penetration what I should be concerned with?

If I could get the Armory to come up, I would link my toon for you all to evaluate. (Name is Regua on Ysera server).
If you look at the toon, you will see that I started out with BG gear going towards afflict spec. Since then I have heard that Destro Lock is best way to go for BG's/Arena and have started to augment my gear slowly with BG spell crit gear. Yes I know my gems suck, but until I get the main gear straight, Im not wasting money/badges on gems, same applies to enchants.

Hi bro,lets go.

1.Resilience (cap is 490),Stamina(to around 12.5k hp) then spell dmg, once you get to that resilience and stamina socket +spell dmg gems,

2. Most played specs are Sl/Sl, Ua/shadowburn,Felguard. Destro requires lot of work, timing, skill and It's least played spec in pvp by far.

3.At resi cap chance to crit is lowered by 25% (around that number),so you do the math.

4.Slap spell penetration on back and that's all you need about spell penetration.
Don't socket spell hit on pvp gear if you dont plan to pve in that gear.

Useful pages ,Arena Junkies,Warlock's Den,WoW-Wiki,Curse(for addons),and allakhazam ofc =p.

Take care

Thanks for the fast response.

I hadn't seen the arena junkies site before, I will be camping there a bit I'm sure.

My spec is very similar to the Ua/Shadowburn you linked.

I know my gems are wrong, but havent had the money to buy new and resocket. But since were on the subject, what about the resil/stam ones that are out there? Honestly I'd be happy with max resil, but have to also think realistic. I am not in any arena teams atm, and I know thats the best gear for PVP, so I currently have to settle with the "charity" gear from BG marks/honor. My resil is what Im concentrating on atm, and wont think of joining any arena teams until I hit atleast 300-350 mark. I dont want to be a burden on an arena team.

Therefore I think I'll stick with my current build. Resocket my gems as cash allows. And keep replacing my old raiding gear with the BG "charity" until I hit a respectable resil. (I'm at 269 atm, if I recall correctly).

Again, thank you very much for the response, it is very appreciated.

My suggestion is make at least 2v2 with a friend, play 10games per week, you will get some points and that's better then no points at all =p

Anyway,farm bgs,get s2 and socket it,enchant it and voila.
