is it possible to get into kara with just some green quest reward swords as long as my other gear is up to par with regards to kara stats? The reason I ask is that I'd really not like to have to waste a few weeks grinding honor points for either the merciless swords or the ones right below that I can't seem to remember the name suddenly.

Ok, let say you will go to Kara with green quest swords and then what? What you want to get in Kara? You want new swords from Karazhan?

I don't understand you to be honest. You will go with crappy green swords and you think you will get some swords from Kara? If yes then you are totally wrong. Only Spiteblade can drop from Netherspite which is way worse than mercilees swords. If you think you will get badges from Kara and then buy badge fists then I say it will last forever. You need 150 badges and each full Kara gives 22 badges.

My advice: get s2 swords for honor. Sacrafice your time to get very good swords - s2 swords. There is no better option now for rogue than get s2 swords or badge fists. S2 swords are good in SSC/TK and you can use them in MH, but anyway you will get enough badges to buy badge fists before you will be able to raid MH/BT.

Really, the grind (and I hesitate to even call it that) for the S2 swords (daggers, maces, fists) is so fast, there is no reason not to have them. Some people even have multiple sets of S2 weapons. Suck it up and go Q for AV. You can get them in a weekend.

you posted the same item twice. the off-hand weapon you want is the quickblade

Total cost: 27000 honor, 40 EotS marks. I would farm 9000 or so honor in AV, switch to EotS and buy the quickblade as soon as you have enough marks. Rinse and repeat for the slicer.
