Holy Beta 8770 Build?Follow

So anyway, I've come across a few people mentioning the HoT in the Ret tree and how/if it would be feasable for a heals spec and this is the best I could come up with. Just wanted to post this and get some feedback. Thanks for the input.

i'm sorry, my cell phone won't display talent calculators so i can't really check that till i get home. those that go holy/ret for the HoT go 48 points into holy to get up to 3 points in um, the one that gives us haste (sorry its still early morning for me lol). the rest go in ret to have 3/3 in Seath of Light making sure to grab Conviction on the way. Also i'd say Imp BoM since that AP improves our SP once we grab SoL.

and honestly for those who go this way you might want to grab some STR gear since STR will boost out SP twice as much per point as int will (1 int = .3 SP; 1 STR = 2 AP = .6 SP) with this ability Holy Pallies will have insane heals when fully raid buffed.

i honestly think blizz will do something about this before it goes live. either they balance our heals around holy pallies speccing into this and nerf the BoL spec even more inadvertantly, or if they balance our heals around a "proper" holy spec (BoL) then the Holy/Ret spec will not only crit more but will have rediculous SP for possibly OP big heals. personally i think they should either put SOL a tier or 2 lower to allow blizz to balance holy pallies around having both SoL and BoL or make it a tier or 3 higher if this is truly intended as a ret ability so holy pallies will have to think garder about skipping so much in the holy tree to get this. then we can be balanced around BoL knowing that holy pallies taking SoL will be losing important talents in holy to make up for the gain in SP and the HoT.

Well I don't think I'll be hitting much of anything in a dungeon or raid run so I doubt it would help me there and I'm most likely to use wisdom on myself. Ah yes, but with multiple pally buffs maybe this: BoW > BoM > BoK? But definately for soloing Holy and buffing groups better.

I agree and I hope what they do is putting sheath lower in the Ret tree! :) I agree with all of your last paragraph but since I'm no math whiz or theorycrafter I guess I'll just have to wait until the exp is realeased and then try each spec out. Thanks!

basically if you take SoL, you're looking at all 3 blessings being good for you as holy. at 70, wisdom = 46mp5 (if i remember imp BoW correctly); might = 120+ spell power (again can't remember exact numbers off the top of my head; and wasn't suggesting this to say you should go melee'ing as holy); and kings remains probably the best blessing as always, but if you're speccing for SoL you'll be needing another pally (prot) to give this to you. for my holy pally this is about 20 SP, 2.5ish spell crit, 900 mana, additional health, etc.

basically, which buff you take will depend on what you need more at that moment. have lots of MP5 but need more oomph in your heals - take might. long fight - take wisdom. have a shadow priest and resto/ele shaman - take might. solo'ing take wisdom for no downtime. and so on...

on another note... as ret spec, with my ret gear on, i was throwing FoL's and HL's on beta as big as my Holy spec/geared pally does on live....

Yup, and with the shortened cycle times we will be keeping a bit busier rebuffing.

...and wow, sounds exciting! Thanks for your feedback.
