My warrior is sitting at 917 armor pen atm and im looking to get cataclysm's edge tonight in hyjal and throwing executioner on it. that will put me at 1252 armor pen constantly and 2092 armor pen with executioner proced. im wondering if there is an armor pen cap and if i should put savagery on the sword

I'm fairly confident that the 'cap' before executioner is somewhere ~1250 from what I recall, assuming full raid debuffs. I'm not 100% sure though since fury isn't my main spec, and I don't think about fury numbers all the time like I do prot. RP probably knows if he checks this thread. That aside, take a look at EJ. You're bound to find the answer you're looking for somewhere on their forums.

Bosses have either 6200 or 7700 armor (slightly approximations, but good enough for us). Bosses with low armor have mana bars, bosses with high armor do not. With 5x Sunders, Faerie Fire and Curse of Recklessness on a low-armor boss they have 2190 armor remaining, which puts the armor cap at... 2190.
If you have a Rogue using Expose Armor, the armor cap drops by 475.
If you have a Rogue using Expose Armor, the armor cap drops by 475.
So 1350 on a caster, assuming Executioner is up. I was close.
