Luxury?! Dude, have you forgotten Prince? I loved watching the melee DPS run their *** off when enfeeblement hit.

Now then, does it really mater of another class, God forbid, out DPS's a mage? There are some fights where a mage has other responsibilities, and really, there are times were I will forgo my quest to make that pesky shadowlock rue their leet attitude of "LOL I IS TEH DPS", but in the end I don't care because I'm more concerned with downing the boss than I am about my own DPS.

Take Curator. I could go insanse on DPS when he does his evocation, but usually I'm on add duty for the fight despite having the second highest DPS. I do everything I can to make sure that I do my role in the raid vs being concerned of the stupid DPS chart.

There was another mage in my guild that nobody could stand because he just wouldn't listen and would not shot up about being the God's gift to DPS. (Amazingly, with his "REVERED" 21-29-11 build, and never focusing on his job and always being an aggro *****, he still couldn't come close to trying to catch me, sitting at 40-0-21). When you look at the role that a mage has to take during certain fights, just forget about winning on DPS and just do your job.

Honestly, in a perfect world, I think every class should have roughly equal DPS potential with roughly equal(but different) utility in raids. Such that when a class doesn't have a specific job to do that doesn't involve DPS, each class has the ability to come out equal with skill being the determining factor, assuming a balanced raid with full synergies going for each class. Obviously, no world is perfect, so I can live with it being close but relatively balanced in Utility/DPS.
