Yeah, I just have a hard time with making a spec that is designed to level, rather then to 'pvp' or 'raid' with, so talent that are purely designed to level with aren't really high in my priority list.
Now, don't get me wrong, Corpse Explosion isn't purely designed to level... it has great use for AE tanking and it can be a blast in pvp... but for Arena/Raid, Corpse Explosion is a 2nd string talent who you'll only ever use if you're the AE tank or to clear pack of mobs (But then you'll be competing (and losing) with mage and lock for AE damage).
So in short, I need to give it another try.

Is it as painful to level a dk as frost as it is to level a prot warrior, or is more something like leveling mutilate vs combat with rogues?
As you said yourself, I'm not that impressed by the blood dk's looks, whereas frost looks insanely bad *** IMO. (I'm talking about the flashiness of the skills and all, here.)
So, I don't need to have a leveling spec that is the best, but I'm not looking forward to a leveling spec that makes we want to jump off a building.

Lich borne is a frost spell, isn't it? I thought that's the one that leaves snowy footsteps where the Death Knight walks, as for flashyness I'd consider that pretty sweet.

From the sounds of the chit chat at the official beta boards, Frost's damage has been upped considerably; people are starting to call it OP. Apparently Howling Blast is, even against a single target, hitting harder than Obliterate.

none of the dk specs will be like leveling prot as a warrior; all three are designed to dps and tank depending on gear set and talents taken.
incidentally, str has been re-valued as a tanking stat, and now benefits a number of tank specs both in aggro gen/mitigation and in dps, so the old adage of "slow as a prot warrior" may finally fall by the wayside.
