I had rolled a BE Hunter before and its the highest level toon I had, at level 18. But to be honest, I really dont like the horde areas and thats why I went alliance. My question is would my experience as an alliance hunter be different from that of the horde? Should I just keep my BE hunter? And, would it be a bad idea to roll another hunter because half the population are hunters? Oh, and are hunters really avoided for instances?

Hmm. At 18 there are only like 3 places you could go? The Barrnes (i tried to skip this as much as possible) Ghostlands, and w/e the 2nd undead zone?

I have a 61 Dwarf Hunter and a 43 Troll Hunter, both spec the same (BM) and I can tell you I like the Troll one better. Maybe it is because I have knowledge of the class or maybe it is because i favor the Horde more then the alliance... but they both have pretty much been the same. I've even done the same quests on each.

As for population, you could look for a realm with a low number hunters. But really, play what you want. And if it is hunter, then be a hunter ^-^

You will level in different places as a Alliance hunter, that is a given. but you are going to do the same... kill this to get this many things it drops, go kill them over there and this many of them, and then go back and kill higher leveled ones again..to go back and kill their "leader".
Just different mobs :p

By 20 you will already be able to wander in the same areas as allied do so i do not see what the problem is , and for me i can easily get to level 20 on most classes in a long weekends play , after about level 20 its all the same areas anyway.

As for if your experience will help i guess yes is the only answer and there is a fair bit of difference in play between allied and horde , as allied i doubt you saw many horde before you got to level 20 but as a horde you will see allied attacking in any of the low level areas , i know not all servers are as bad but i am on three and allied attack the low areas on them all .

If you dislike all the horde areas ? then i guess you are an allied at heart ?.

And on my server the Horde do the same so your going to get it no matter where you go. Honestly it is what you like more. As a 70 Hunter I am usually wanted in instances. Ranged DPS (when you know how to play your character) is always good in instances and raids. We can also backup CC, so we are good additions. The bad ones are the huntards that give us a bad name.

Honestly, you should keep your BE hunter.

And to answer your questions about if hunters are avoided for instances,

No, not 'avoided', but they aren't in high demand.

For example, If a group had to choose between a mage and a hunter. Most of the time they'd go with the mage. Hunters have a reputation for being newbs. Plus, the Mage has sheep.
