Elemental Shaman ChangesFollow

No patch notes summaries are available yet, but;

Storm, Earth and Fire - Chance to root on Frost Shock removed, now gives Lightning Bolt +25% from Spell Power.
Paralysis - Removed, replaced with Lava Flows
Lava Flows - Increases the +SD from Flametongue Weapon by 20/40/60%, and gives your Lava Burst a 6/12/24% (possible bug? should be 18%) bonus crit.
Totem of Wrath - Hit removed, replaced with +6% damage dealt by spells.

Didn't see any other Shaman changes when I was skimming through the list.

Great, they took away 2 control aspects they were going to put in. ~_~
I liked Paralysis, but felt it should have been lower on the tree.

Dev 1: "Why are Shaman struggling in PvP in TBC?"

Dev 2: "Because they're all power with few applicable tools?"

Dev 1: "So, what should we give them in WotLK?"

Both Devs: "... More power and as few new tools as possible!"

Dev 1: "Party on, Dev 2."

Dev 2: "Party on, Dev 1."

Elemental

* Eye of the Storm (Tier 4) changed to give you a 23/46/70% chance to avoid interruption caused by damage while casting Lightning Bolt, Chain Lightning, Lava Burst and Hex spells.
* Totem of Wrath (Tier 9) increases the damage done by spells and effects by 6% and increases the chance strike chance of spells and effects by by 3%. (Previously increased hit chance by 3%)
* Paralysis (Tier 9) Removed. It has been replaced with Lava Flows (Tier 9) which increases the amount of bonus spell damage on your Flametongue Weapon by an additional 20/40/60%, and increases the critical strike damage bonus of your Lava Burst spell by an additional 6/12/24%.
* Storm, Earth, and Fire's (Tier 11) Frost Shock element has been removed. It's been changed to increase the damage of your Lightning Bolt spell by an amount equal to 5/10/15/20/25% of your spell power. (Frost Shock Removed from this talent)

Enhancement

* Wrath of Air Totem has been changed from 10% to 5% bonus to spell haste.
* Guardian Totems (Tier 2) does not affect Windwall Totem anymore.
* Elemental Weapons (Tier 5) does not affect Rockbiter Weapon anymore.
* Feral Spirit (Tier 11) increased to a 3 min cooldown. (Was 2 minutes)

Restoration

* Totemic Mastery (Tier 3) removed. It has been replaced with Tidal Force. Tidal Force grants a spell which increases the critical effect chance of your Healing Wave, Lesser Healing Wave and Chain Heal by 60% Each critical heal reduces the chance by 20%. Instant Cast, 3 minute cooldown.
* Tidal Waves (Tier 10) changed to affect the next 3 spells cast. (Previously was the next 2 spells cast)

Made a big change with eye of the storm finaly! I think all totems have been made 30 yards since the talent is gone, I expected this. The Talent Storm, Earth, Fire got a major buff but I still dont know if math makes it better then going part way into enhancement lol.

My complaining and ******** about totem of wrath final got it fixed it seems =P

Elemental is looking better and better as a sub-spec for Resto. 11 points for PvE is a no-brainer because of the change on Elemental Focus, but 18 points in makes it very good for PvP too.

Sub-Elemental (18 points)
Elemental Warding
Elemental Focus
4/5 Reverberation
Eye of the Storm

Sub-Enhancement (9 points)
Ancenstral Knowledge
Imp. Shields
Imp. Guardian Totems
Imp. Ghost Wolf

The biggest reason not to go sub-Elemental in PvP, I think, is the total investment required. 18 points is pretty steep when the Resto tree is alread bloated with lots of talents that are useful in both PvE and PvP. It would be very tough to come up with an all-around build for both PvE and PvP with only 53 points in Resto, and Elemental is less appealing without EotS to avoid pushback on Hex.

I've been running with an Imp. GW build since it was implemented and I can honestly say that it is now the least compelling reason to go sub-Enhance. The escape rate is abysmal, and only slightly increases when you have Toughness, which requires an even deeper investment than Elemental. Ancestral Knowledge sucks compared to Elemental Focus in efficiency but doesn't require an offensive spell crit. The loss of Guardian Totems is somewhat alleviated by having Elemental Warding and Reverberation. Improved Shields, then, is now the biggest reason to sub-spec Enhancement, for the increased effects on Earth Shield and Water Shield, the former of which is, unfortunately, still dispel bait.

It's a bit of a toss-up, but I am still leaning towards a 0/12/59 build.
