There is a preview of glyphs that will be available for Shaman here

Some of these are looking really good but my only concern is having to re-glyph everytime I want to change specs. Hopefully they provide a way to re-glyph and re-spec at the same time otherwise I will be spending a ton on inscription mats.

Do some of these seem ridiculously powerful to anyone else? And not just the Shaman ones, I mean. For all the classes. At least half of these glyph effects are just as good or better than some talents. I thought these were going to be subtle changes to the spells/abilities, not changing spells into completely different ones with potentially class-balance-altering effects...

wow they are sick, but ya I remember someone telling me that blizzard always intended to make them this strong, the wayt it was put to me was blizzard was giving those that want to be great the chance to increase your talents almost.

Anyhow is there a limit to the amount you can have? do they go away when you respec?

Wow, I love the chain heal one - add one more jump - sweet. They do seem really powerful, but If you look at the overall stat increase on all of the items in the expansion its not really that over inflated in compairsion.

Heck, I saw plate pants that had +120 stam - of course those are plate tanking pants, but doesnt that seem like an unusually high amount of stam?

I can only imagine what raids will have instore for us at 80!

Last I heard is that these would be tagged on to your spells (much like enchants on your armor) to improve yourself much further then what your talents and gear might.

Basically glyphs are going to be the main difference between the hardcore shaman and the casual shaman in the expansion, those that want to compete well in pvp or be all they can be in end game raids will go for these, but I will admit I am not sure to the limitation of these "glyphs" we may be limited to having a set amount, they may require obtaining as rare drops, or they may just be hella expensive enchants (not sure if the info is up somewhere have not really looked since my pc died so atm no wow /cry).

I like that most of these seem to fill in the gaps for shaman in all trees, but then again i am too scare to look at what blizzard gave the classes they actually like =P

Actually they changed how glyphs will work recently. Instead of being a spell enchant like they had said earlier each character will have 6 glyph slots (7 if you're an inscripter) You will have 2 minor, 2 lesser and 2 greater glyph slots with 1 more greater if you are an inscripter. Obviously the greater glyphs will be more powerful than the lessers and the lessers more powerful than the minors.

limit to 6, 7 if your the actual crafter, makes sense i didn't think they would ever let them have them all, they are still basically spell enchants though lol maybe thats just how I see it though.

Glyph - Fire Elemental Totem 01 (Shaman) (Class: Shaman) - Reduces the cooldown of your Fire Elemental Totem by 3 min.

Is it just me or does anyone else think these are a worthless improvement? 3 minutes? On a 20 minute timer? I've never been in a situation and been like, "Man if only my 20 min timer on an elemental I can't even control was up."....

To ask something. The minor glyphs (or whatever the lowest rank of glyphs are called) are essentially pointless glyphs that are there for chuckles, right? I'm only asking this because i remember a few things on the mage glyphs that were worthless (though kind of cool) like polymorph: baby penguin being a glyph.
#15 Sep 09 2008 at 2:10 AM Rating: Decent
Uh, and you find that pointless? In pvp that just might buy your team a win since from that point when enemy player is polymorphed to baby penguin, I find it hard to believe that he/she could get nerves back together and consentrate to pvp'ing. Baby penguing = profit.
And to answer (or actually not) the real question, I have no idea are there any useful stuff there.

Minor Glyphs provide small upgrades, or cosmetic improvements. Examples that have been given are the removal of reagent requirements from spells, lowering spell costs, or changing spell graphics.
