How to get Tempest Regalia set?Follow

#1 Aug 08 2008 at 1:13 AM Rating: Decent
Hi, I would love to know with what should I start, when I reach 70lvl, if I wanted T6 set?!I dont know what quest I have to do or what items I have to gain and to who I'm suppose to give them then...
Can anyone who's already on T6 help me with it?

That'd be jumping the gun to get the T6 set once you hit 70. Each token (for each piece of equipment) drops from the T6 bosses in raids. To start, you may want to look at starting in Kara (T4) and working your way up. When you kill the bosses, they'll drop tokens for a specific item, these are then returned (to either Aldor or Scryer) to the appropriate NPC in exchange for the T-whatever item.

With the exception of T6 where the vendor is in mount Hyjal.

If you want to get to T6 content, you will need to start out with a gear progression order:

On average it goes like this:

- [tailoring crafted items: Spellstrike Hood/Pants + Spellfire set]
- Heroics to get rid of your greens and to save up some badges
- Karazhan for some upgrades + badges of justice
- Gruul's lair (nice weapon + cloak + T4 from here)
- Magtheridon's lair (not too much for mages here if you are crafted)
- Serpentshrine Cavern (SSC) + Tempest Keep (TK) + Zul'aman (T5)
- Mount Hyjal + Black Temple (T6)
--
--
- Sunwell Plateau (T6.5)

That is about the average length of progression for someone to get into T6 content without being carried through instances.

Nice reply Anobix. Yeah, I haven't been that far in progression (we're not cool enough =P), but I do know that you have to take your time moving through each raid and "progress" through them (as you've listed perfectly).

Good to know the T6 token is redeemed up at Hyjal, though.

Actually, that list can be safely dropped down a bit, at least on my server.

-[Tailored epics or mindless PvP for honor gear]
-Kara, heroics, and PuG ZA's (non-timed, first few bosses), to get badges more than gear
-Organized ZA's for gear; Gruul, Mag, and Hyjal PuG's for experience and a few pieces of gear
-SSC/TK + timed ZA's for gear
-BT/Hyjal + PuG Kael/Vashj runs
-More BT/Hyjal
-Sunwell

Which, for the average person, stops at step 3. If you can manage to get into the right guild, assuming you're lucky to get in one early or they're recruiting, you might actually get a shot at T6 before the expansion, but it would take some hardcore gear-grinding now and probably some fantastic skill to weasel your way into T6 before WotLK hits.

Most guilds I've been in give T5 to hunters and locks before mages (hey, they got the food at the start, we're just there in case they run out and they need portals at the end...) and non-tier gear to SP. It sucks. Hopefully you can find a decent guild that will be fair with gear.

Bad loot system and a bit of bitterness all in a single post.

By having absolutely no life. Quit your day job, drop out of school, get a divorce, sell your children, and move back in with your parents.

hey there

On the loot system thread. In our guild we get dkp and then if a nice piece of loot drops for u, u can bid on it so all gets a chance to bid if u have dkp.

Hmm, sounds like a bad guild/bad loot system.

We run with loot council and definitely do a need-based looting, where if it is a big upgrade for anyone (assuming they are not a recruit) we will give the loot to them, or they may be nice enough to pass it to somone else who wants it.

Was a bad guild, corrupt looting system. There was attendance tiers, but things were put into place to violate that system also. So, gear could be lotted for side specs while someone else, like me, would have to go without it who could use it for a main spec. What happened with me was the Cowl dropped from VR and it was given to a shadow priest without any sort of hesitation. It would have given me better DPS over the SP and one stat was totally watched on them. Also, the SP had come into the guild as a hunter, later changing to SP to get into raids while I had always been a mage to every raid since the guild's creation. So, I left that night and basically left the game for a few months. After I came back, I heard the guild broke up after the guild leader took the guild bank.

The whole experience I have had with guilds on my server has not been a great one. It has always been about gearing a select "core" group, usually rl friends or people that rolled together since level 1. I enjoy the killing of new bosses and seeing new areas. I like getting stuff to help me do better in the guild, I am no loot *****, but I do think that guilds should be fair to everyone. When only 5 people get upgrades and the rest are stuck in pvp/T4/Kara, it does tend to bring down the effectiveness of the guild as a whole and it will eventually fail.

I basically got turned off raiding because of this. Only reason I actually came back was because no other game has the expansion, free world that WoW has. I missed flying on the back of my nether drake. It's fun and you feel so free so high in the sky.

I may switch servers when WOTLK comes out. Get on one of the expansion servers that always seem to come out with new content. Get a fresh start and maybe pick up on raiding again. It's a fun game, but bad people don't make it so much fun.

Actually, you'd be surprised just how good that helm is for Shadowpriests. Without the set bonuses, it actually ranks on Shadowpriest.com as just under their T6 helm and just over the T5 one. Based on this, I can't say that their loot decision was wrong, though based on the rest of your post, it probably was. I also can't penalize a guy who can't get raid spots so they roll something else the guild needs more. Some of the best people I know are people who rerolled to fill needs when their class was overpopulated. To make a full decision, I'd need to know what each of you were wearing. However, I'm going to take your word for it and assume they were probably in the wrong.

This is why I'm not a huge fan of Loot Council systems. When they work, they work REALLY well and are quite honestly the best systems. However, they are open to corruption more than other systems, in my experience. Every system has its weaknesses, though, so it's hard to decide which weaknesses you can live with. I'd definitely recommend you consider shying away from guilds that use Loot Council in the future.

our guild also uses the dkp system, the only exception to the rules are that priority is given to the tank (dead tank means no progression) and to main characters. after that its a free for all, assuming you win with your bid :)

going back to the OP topic, I would recommend grinding as much of Kara as you can, this will give you some nice gear upgrades yet with the grind comes badges and even more gear upgrade potential. If you get into a guild that hasd the place on farm you can easily get 20 Badges during a full clear, taking only 2-3 hours depending on the raid setup.
