T4 DPS helm 4 set is terrible, and the 2 set isn't all that hot either. It could be worse, but 5 rage off of your WW every 9 seconds is hardly game breaking as most of the time you'll have plenty of rage to do what you need to do. Engineering goggles are a lot better.

I'm slightly confused as to why the Engineering goggles would be a "lot better" than the T4 helm. I looked at the stats, and they're pretty close, you do trade some +crit for +hit, but that seems like a fairly minor difference.

Is it just because of the increased stealth detection and the ability to see gas clouds?

I don't think they're much better, I think they're equal in terms of pure combat stats.

The yellow socket on the t4 is better than a blue socket, because yellow has more options for +hit and +crit gems, while the blue is really only good for AP.

However, the crit chance difference is significant but the gem itemization makes up for that in my mind.

What the googles do have that can be very useful for pvp servers and BG's is the ability to look into the distance. And googles provide a money making option with the ability to find gas clouds and collect motes.

The googles get the nod because they offer functionality beyond the combat stats.
