Maybe I'm just having a really dumb moment, but I'm hoping y'all can help me decide between two weapons. I may be going Ret for a raid (ZA timers) and need to enchant some of my DPS gear which I've been neglecting. In the bank currently I have the Hammer of the Naaru and Despair. Sadly, I can only afford to mongoose one of them for this experimental re-spec and can't decide which. I keep wanting to go with Despair even though the Hammer's probably better for overall DPS and after going back and forth about it, my brain is mush.
Help!

Hammer. Stats are a boost and I don't think the proc happens that often (3% I believe)
not to mention bigger hits on the mace.
Yeah, after looking into it more I realized that the higher average damage would be better with SoB.

I currently run with a Despair and although the hammer has better stats and slight increase in dps, despair's impale hits more often than not for quite a bit more than 600 damage. I think my standard impale is around 750 and I have seen it crit for more than 1700.
