im not sure if the new disc tier 1 talent is just towards your bonus healing/damage, or to the total
i might get if its for the total... but i would need that other talent too... ill hafta think of what to do at that point

i would only use rank 1, just to get the regen effect
its more of a boss fight tool
lets theorycraft some numbers on a long fight
mind blast once every 6 seconds, 50% on crit to get the effect, lets say i got 20% crit (if im aiming for crit i see that being likely number to get)
on a 5 minute boss fight (300 seconds)
50 possible attempts at the effect, 10% effective chance to get it on cast (20% crit rate, 1/2 chance if u crit)
so thatll average 5 procs
now i dont know how strong the spirit regen will get up too... but that sounds like a good amount of added mana if you get it.... only getting stronger with the higher crit
now the purpose of it... since ill be grace as well, is not so much have me at the main healer... but more of the off healer in a raid
and keeping mana flow on me, keeping grace up, and tossing shields/healing the dps/providing the imp ds.... it seems like a possible kinda setup to use
rapture when i shield a tank+in spirit tap mode+outside 5SR = my own mana battery
should easily feed me shield or regen/flash heal mana... while i still got enough strong talents to actually heal too
it might not pan out (gotta see if it adds to meditation, or multiplies into it, or just overrides it) but it seems like a very utility thing in pve
and pvp... well 2v2, critting a mind blast during a fear might give me that extra 600 mana i need to keep my guy alive
plus in pvp, the extra dmg helps a lot more then in a raid setting.... you never know (hell, inner focus+max rank blast = good damage and a possible outside-5SR mana regen, if i get a drink off at the same time... jesus ****** christ thats win :D)
and keep in mind... imp ds... the buff via spirit tap would also grant me a solid amount of free plus healing (so mind blast r1 crit+innner focus+greater heal = bam big crit while outside 5SR by the time it lands lol)
granted im only leveling my priest... but it seems like a whole new dynamic i can add to the healing thing, and it seems like a lot of situational usage (spirit tap+innervate?) that just makes my utility fun that much more fun <3
