haste vs ArPFollow

#1 Aug 06 2008 at 7:55 AM Rating: Decent
Hi,

I'm playing BE retri pala atm and been stacking haste rating as much as possilble, but now I'm wondering if I should change my "25haste - 50ap" neck with a "175ArP - 70ap"?

and another question:

How much ArP goes to 1haste for a be retri? (dunno if you know what I mean)

What is ArP?

I am assuming armor? But then what does armor have to do with haste?

ArP is Armor Penetration, as opposed to AP (Attack Power).

ArP=armor penetration

Because of the way armor works in mitigating physical dam the amount of extra dam you do because of ArP varies as the armor level of the mob changes. Generally haste is better for pallys as we do a fair amount of holy dam which isn't mitigated by armor anyway, and haste can also increase the # of wf procs(or any other straight % proc abilities).

Haste is only better for Blood Elf Ret Paladins as they have Seal of Blood.

Although Ret paladins do hit with some holy damage your primary source of damage will still be white auto attack hits, usually followed by crusader strike (which i believe is also a melee hit, although sometimes it comes up as white hits other times not?).

ArP would work well in PvP though in dealing with pesky mages, locks and priests. Like cutting through warm butter with a hot knife.

generally speaking it should be about 1 haste to 6 ArP. but, stacking ArP increases effectiveness. also, spell rotation and type of fight make the conversion less clear. lastly, dont gimp your AP by substituting out your +str stats. under 2k AP +str is still your bread n butter.

straight answer: ArP neck
