Hello guys
After getting 3/6 in SSC my guild has decided to switch and get some first kills in TK.
I read the relevant guides to Void Reaver in Bosskillers and resigned myself to not using the pet, but then i watched the Big Red Kitty video and he had his pet in there full time?
I realise he has the T5 bonus (I have only got 1 piece) Is this enough to keep pet up alone or does he have to spam mend pet.

I tried in vain sending the pet in and spamming mend pet but to no avail :(
Can I ask what you guys do/did on him please?

I use my pet on him, but it requires me to pull him back fairly often. Mend Pet + Distance does the trick.
Whatever you do, never ever dismiss your pet on that fight, since you'll lose 2% damage from talents. Secondly, whatever damage your pet does on him might be that little bit extra that takes him down.

Hey All,

Did VR just last night and I am BM Hunter. I basically want to echo what North said, you must use your pet where possible. In practice I called pet back quite often for heal and then ensured I at least sent him in each time BW was off cd to maximise the damage.

Cheers

I don't have T5 on my hunter, but I do leave my pet in there full time. I'm just lucky to get a resto shaman every time I run TK.

Casting Mend after every Pounding and leaving him there can last you a long time before you need to call him back.

I used to put arcane resist on my pet and it worked wonders as well.

Good advice by all above.

I'll add...don't forget to chug your mana pots. I find VR to be very mana intensive, especially with mend pets thrown in there frequently. Chug those pots early and often so you don't have to go to Viper.
