I want to roll a paladin and I have no idea what race to choose.I want to be a tank and i've read that a dwarf would be a good choice.Is this the best race to be a tank?btw... i play alliance.
Racials by level 70 are far less important than enjoying the character that you have to stare at day in and day out. Dwarfs can remove a bleed or poison effect I believe which is handy but if that causes you to wipe you have bigger problems. Blood Elves can AoE silence, which seems great too since casting mobs are a pain for Pally tanks. Humans, well 10% to rep boost is awesome when you have to rep grind which there is a lot of at end game.
So you really won't go wrong with any of them unless you think your character looks horrible. (ie female Dwarf)

Don't forget Draenei! Their racials include a Heal over Time spell (the only one a pally can have), a +1% hit bonus, and +10 Shadow Resist. Oh yeah, a bonus to Jewelcrafting as well.
Other beneficial human racials include the very minor bonus to maces/swords, and the Perception ability which is very useful in Arena.

Hey! I made my new pally a female dwarf just because no one rolls a female dwarf, and it'll be funny to see people go "WTF?!?!" when I smack them in a BG.
That, and the two long pony-tails look sweet while casting :)
