Dealing with warriorsFollow

Well, back when I just dinged 70, most MS-warriors simply 2 shot me. I figured that was because of my gear sucked.

So now I've upgraded to full season 2, some Kara gear and badge bracers (Armory)...

And guess what? I'm still getting 2/3-shotted by MS warriors. Yesterday I did an arena match with my shokadin partner, we faced a warrior and healadin. So I was mounted up and spend about 2 minutes LOS kiting the warrior while my shokadin DPS'ed down the healadin. Once the healadin bubbled, I dismounted and threw him a mass dispel. About 2 seconds later I was affected by charge stun. When that wore off I was affected by mace stun. Then I died.

Next round we fight the same team again. Exactly the same thing happens up to the mass dispel. After my dispel I immediatly throw up a shield and prayer of mending. I get charge stunned, mace stunned, fear the warrior to have him trinket it, fake cast his pummel and get one flash heal off. Then I die.

Is this normal? Are warriors supposed to rush trough us and stunlock us to death? I've had it happened to me a couple of more times in the BG's as well, and so far I've managed to outheal a rogues' DPS better than a warrior's. I realize my spec might not be optimal for PvP, but seeing as I'm getting my *** handed to me within say 10 seconds, I wouldn't say picking up Focussed Will and Pain Supression would make a noticable difference.

I'm really clueless as to what I'm doing wrong. My gear isn't all that bad, but whatever I try (for as much as I get room to try), warriors simply charge up to me, mace stun me, and kill me. Inner fire's always up, shield usually as well... Just nothing seems to work. Is there something obvious I'm doing wrong that I've missed or have I just been unlucky and were all those warriors (I'd say about 10) simply S3/4 warriors?

If your rating is about 1500, everyone *is* S3/S4. There's no getting around that. You want at least 10khealth and 400 resilience unbuffed, otherwise you'll have problems with the hard-hitting melee (MS warriors, ret pallies, enhance shammies).

About the only thing you can do at this point is get more honor gear, and work on arena and pick up the important pieces.

Should've mentioned it, those 2 battles I mentioned were practice matches, Bellu isn't actually in a team atm.

Self-buffed I've got about 9.7K hp, I'm just ~170 resilience away from the 400 you mentioned. Does the ~3% less chance to crit matter that much?

3% less crits, plus less damage from crits. Yes, it makes a large difference, especially for priests. Focused Will and Pain Suppression also make a large difference, especially against Mortal Strike warriors who a) are reducing the effectiveness of your heals and b) are gaining rage in proportion to how much they damage you.

They're all free forms of damage reduction (except Pain Suppression, which is very cheap), which means they help with both the DPS/HPS race and the mana endurance match.

I have a hard time envisioning the match you describe. Why would the warrior chase your mount rather than pound on your pally and build rage until you have to dismount to heal, then intercept -> hamstring you?

That beats me. Now that you mention it it makes him look quite noobish, and then to think he was wearing a S4 helm.

The thing I can't shake is that 170 resilience and 3 talents will stop me from being 3-shot and instead make me as survivable against warriors as I am against mages.

Keep in mind that having resilience of 400+ will also mean you're wearing a ton of quality PVP gear, which also gives you stamina, +healing and a decent armor rating. The latter is quite significant to clothies, since there's lots of armor reduction on S4 gear, which is more deadly to us than to plate or mail wearers.

Focused Will has incredible synergy with Resilience. It's the reason discipline priests are often considered PVP tanks. They're quite hard to kill, but you can't just let them heal and manaburn. Pain Suppression is a lifesaver, and costs extremely little mana.

Beyond that, maybe you need more general advice for dealing with warriors in arena? When the warrior comes for you, get your shield and PoM and Renew up. Run to your partner. Call for him to give you Blessing of Freedom and to stun the warrior. Stay in the warrior's safe zone from then on, outside of melee and inside of intercept. Keep your shield up to keep his rage down. Don't forget to keep an eye on your inner fire charges. Use psychic scream on his partner since he will often be immune.

If you're lucky enough to have the bridge, use it. Toss the warrior off it with Mind Control whenever he's on you. If he pummels MC, you can get off a big heal or two; if he doesn't, you're on top of the world.

But honestly, don't expect to do all that well with a shockadin partner. A rogue is your best bet, a hunter or mage or warlock are possibilities. Better still, get into 3s and run RMP or DPW.
