Beasts you want to tame?Follow

#1 Jul 31 2008 at 11:38 AM Rating: Good
So, with the whole exotic pet thing from WotLk and the devilsaurs/moths, what Beasts would you like to tame? Personally, I'd love to see a Kodo or Thunderlizard (both shrank down of course) or maybe even a Zevra. I mean, the horns on the Zevra seem like they could be used for a rather nasty special ability now that all pets get one.

Maybe special water only pets that are hella strong, but can only be called into the water. Aka, if you tame it in the water then walk out, they vanish until the next time you enter the water. Haven't been all that far in the game, but surely there are a few in the water battles where this could be useful?

So, any you'd like to see?

Maybe one of those fen striders in Zangermarsh? Be kind of cool to see strolling along beside you. The slurping sound when it sucks life is pretty cool too. Needs a "War of the Worlds" bellow to go along with it.

In addition to the Devilsaur, tame some of the other elite dinos in Un Goro just to be different. See the stegosaur battle the devilsaur.

Another interesting one could be the Giant Gorilla in STV. Can watch it scratch it's rear in IMAX style! LOL

Happy Hunting

a friend of mine will only go the 51 point talent if they enable us to tame corehounds with them. A drooling, evil looking broken chained 2 headed dog doesnt seem like a bad idea either :)

I want a hydra. I've wanted one since the first time I saw one. Hopefully, they'll be tameable with the exotic pet training talent. I've just got to figure out which one I want (I'm leaning towards the purple one from The Barrens, but it's a rare spawn, so it might be a pain to get.)

No one has mentioned Basilisks. However they have quite a few cool skins and a few possible abilities that could be interresting.

Gaze: puts the target to sleep for 10 seconds. Any damage made to the target wakes it up.

Wyverns and Chimearas might be interresting too. Worms, although passably disgusting, can make a very original pet. Hyppogryphs, Stags, Pterrordax... the possibilities are many.

The best thing would have to be the Grimtotem Spirit Guide making a comeback at the side of BM hunters.

Oh by the way, Chimearas are already tameable in WotLK beta! They use FrostStorm breath: simultaneous nature and frost damage, and slow.

Fun fight though.

I wanna tame a gnome! I could also tame North...
#11 Aug 02 2008 at 10:08 AM Rating: Good
Special Ability:

Scathing Prose

North spends ten seconds tearing into the target.
If successful, target lurks away in shame until next server reset.
Prerequisite: Target must raise North's ire by being retarded.

With the high number of mobs marked as beasts in this game, we can onyl hope that a lot, if not all of them become tameable with this new talent. Though, I hardly consider some of the beasts in this game exotic (though, still interesting) and hope we can tame them without it.

I have it on good authority that we can tame Ravasaurs in the beta Smiley: grin
#16 Aug 03 2008 at 7:46 PM Rating: Decent
Are not Ravasaurs basicaly just Raptors? If so, I see no need for them to be tamed... But yeah, all the dinos should be tameable along with Basilisks and things like Clovehooves.

BM hunters can now tame Chimera's. I just saw my first one in the beta, a Female Blood Elf hunter, had a purple 2 headed chimera by her side. Looked very cool, but I was unable to ask where she got it or what special ability it had before she flew off from a flight path. If I see her again I'll be sure to ask.

*Edit*
Apparently the pet is from Netherstorm, rare elite spawn called Nuramoc and he is currently tame-able as just a test so says a blue. Now every hunter and their mother are out there trying to wait for this guy to spawn so they too can have a Chimera. They also say next patch there will be even more Exotic Pets to tame.. so we'll have to keep a look out.

I don't remember since I haven't been in ZA for awhile, but I think they can be frost trapped. I might be thinking of the trolls, I know one of them can be frost trapped.
#22 Aug 05 2008 at 12:44 PM Rating: Good
Doesn't help much, considering that it's the Freezing Trap that CC's them.
Can it really be that hard to differentiate between Frost and Freezing? Frost forms on windows and the ground during cold spells. Freezing something means freezing them rock solid. Guess what? The damned Traps works the exact same way, to my shock and amazement... Jesus...

Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog ftw!

With extra aggro generation, for who would not get pissed when you get wtfpwnd by a snowshoe rabbit!

I will be mine. Oh yes, it will be mine...
