Hello all,

I am a BM Hunter (41/20) and was curious on what shot rotation would be best (groups, raids) ? I checked out some of the macros in the sticky, and have tried some out. In particular, the steady shot - Kill command macro seemed to come in handy. I also tried to play around with the macro a bit, and ended up ******** it up royally... If any of you BM hunters on here, could suggest a solid shot rotation macro, possibley with Kill Command, I would appreciate it very much as I am having some troubles with my macros! I also was wondering if any of you use a macro when trapping in groups? I was thinking one could be made to use distrating shot, drop trap, then stop auto shot... But Im not sure how to write it out >.<

Anyway, I apologize for the bothersome request on macro help. I really would appreciate any advice I can get on this matter... Thank you in advance!

I used about the same rotation as BM regardless if I was in a 5-man or a 25-man. Shot rotation generally depends on your weapon speed (including any hasting effects). Speaking in the most general sense, if you have a fast weapon, use a 1:1 rotation/macro. If you have a slower weapon, use a 3:2 rotation/macro. This is just a generalization, however, and if you really want to crank out the best dps your hunter can, you will need to learn how to use Cheeky's spreadsheet.

I 2nd what Dilbert said, use Cheeky's spreadsheet and figure out the speed most suited for you. Others may know off the top of their head just by looking at your armory what rotation to use. You can find a link to Cheeky's spreadsheet in the stickies.

If your shotspeed is around 1.8 sec or lower, start with trying 1:1 priority
(meaning you replace a steady with an arcane/multishot whenever they are up, ofcourse as long as those shots outdamage your steadyshot)

If you are above 1.9 and below 2.1ish try the /cast/cast spam macro.
(check the sticky for that, although I think it is still called 3:2 in there... I should alter that)

If you are above 2.2, get a faster weapon! :P

I personally prefer using the 1:1 priority, simply because it is more fun than bashing 1 macro.
And between drums, IAotH, rapid Fire and Heroism my wolfslayer is pretty much always at a speed where the /cast/cast performs a 1:1 rotation anyway.
So using a 1:1 priority gives me more dps.

What works for you will be greatly dependant on your latency and what you are comfortable with, as well as what you are fighting.
On new bosses I generally use a 1:1 macro and handtime only multishot (arcane doesnt do enough damage over steadyshot to make it worth using) on anything where I feel comfortable enough with my role to pay some extra attention to my castbar I handweave everything because that is both more fun and results in slightly higher dps.
