ok, well i have been prot since level 35. It's been great an all but i dinged 50 a few days ago and went ret for a change of pace. Now level 56, should i go back to prot for outlands? or just stay ret? What does everyone suggest? I know prot would make finding instance groups faster (major tank shortage on cho'gall). Would prot actually be easier?
If you LIKE tanking, and there is a major tank shortage on your server, Prot will be much easier as long as you like doing 5-mans.
I was ret up until level 61 and switched to prot then (mainly because my guild has several Rets in the 55-62 range) and I have stayed prot up until now (am getting close to 68).
When I quest, I don't personally re-spec, I just stay prot and eat a sandwich while a group of 8 mobs beats itself to death on me. Some quests go slower this way, but some actually seem to go faster.
Also, I quest a lot with a priest who is about 1 level below me and he is specced Holy. You would think that holy priest and prot paladin would be a horrible questing duo, but it actually rocks. Death does not happen too often when we quest together, and our kill speed per mob is actually quite good.
