I often review my gear plans and current gear here just to make sure iam on the right track.

http://kilrogg-eu.warcrafter.net/Celest

heres my charector. I have a profile set up in warcrafter for the next step of upgrades i seek to obtain.

**************************************

i plan to get a mongoose for my offhand, my chest [6stats], bracers [ap]and gloves [ag] enchanted soon.

Now iam only considering the items which i have immediate access to.

iam gonna replace my rings wiht 1000marks from prince and angelista's revenge from badges.

My belt will be replaced with the belt of silint path.

My pants will be the first badge item to obtain. [scryers retainer]

Iam after spite blade for a MH. ill throw mongoose on it.

Iam not sure if i should get the pendant of might [iam aldor] to replace my current neck. maxdps ranks it as higher :\.

I bought the merciless helm to replace the god awful teal condom on my head [helm of claw]. But now i have T4 which is currently waiting for a relentless earthstorm.

My gloves will be replaced by t4 for the set bonus.

i plan to replace my thorwing blade by the distracting blades in heroic MagT.

I plan to repalce my shoulders with the silvermoon retainers in heroic MagT.

I plan to replace my hourglass with the shard of contempt in MagT

I hope to someday replace my abaccus with a dragon spine trophy. [i should mention i have the bloodlust brooch]

********************************

so my fellow rogues of allakazam, am i missing anything?

First off, Don't worry about the ring off prince, Garona's is better, but Angelista's revenge is fantastic.

Forget the Spiteblade, It's pretty weak considering you can sit in BG's for a weekend and get yourself the s2 slicer (or better yet, get the badge fists)

Get the Pendant of might, just do it.

Planning on getting the distracting blades is fun....

Use the Bloodlust brooch now, you have it, go ahead and use it. The hourglass is the weakest of your trinkets right now so replace that first.

You have a lot of hopes and dreams about the gear you'll get, just be aware that **** might not drop for you as planned (I've been after the trophy for months)

why should the spreadsheets be an excuse to not discuss upgrades here? I quite like skinning out the items and finding the reasoning behind it all. Helps test if my analysis skills are right and if not, then i figure out how to improve it. After all, not much ready data will be available when we head into wotlk, most will be innacurate and whats right will be argued into doubt for a while. Better to keep the mind polished for our own decisions. For example, i had already considered the glad weps. But its just so common to see them around. So while yes iam doing pvp and will eventually reach the honor, before that time if spite drops, why not? THough i will end up with the glad wep in the end.

I kept the hourglass as it goes off automaticly, Ill switch to bloodlust. Ill forget about 1000 marks.

ya my biggest problem is MagT heroic. thats where i see me going the "it just doesnt drop!" phase all over again. But i have great people in my guild who i can trust and fight alongside with in there.

O and jon, i know the feeling of stuff mgiht not drop already. i did BM and mech 76 times each [ i counted] and had given up on the trinkets [never dropped all those times] and THEN they dropped on an offhand run to help a guildie with rep.

I think it's implied that the spreadsheet is meant to help one decide which pieces to pursue, as such it's pretty easy to assume that you'd use it instead of asking the question. But at the same time you do offer a good point that discussing why one piece is better than another is important in the decision making process.

And I can understand not wanting two trinkets with "Use" effects, I'm the same way (I used the same two trinkets for the longest time, I still haven't bought the Bloodlust brooch)

Another thing is that if your original intention was to go after the Season 2 Slicer, why add the bit about the Spiteblade at all? Sure if it drops it'll be a slight improvement, but overall it wouldn't mean very much especially with AV weekend coming up for an easy honor grind.

There's a big difference between soloing gear and raiding gear.

Soloing you try and pick the gear that will give you the least downtime. I use my highest AP gear, which is about half and half between PvP and PvE gear.

Most of your damage in soloing comes from yellow damage, as you can dump an entire energy bar into a mob. I'm running around at 71 with ~175 hit and doing fine.

Hmm, Another thing I'd like to note, is that you have three "Blue" gems where you only need two... They're really not useful towards anything other than Activating your meta. Replace the Shifting Nightseye on your pants with Agility, Hit, or both

Okay, now that I've fixed all of your "Iams" with the proper "I am," Jon gave you good ideas... along with Theo (no matter how much you may disagree).

The ring from Prince is quite hard to get. In fact, all of the times I've been through Kara, I've seen it only drop once, and it was last night. Luckily, I was on my rogue (for the first time in the longest time), and beat a fury war on the roll.

The pants are nice to get, but as Jon said, the badge fists are even better (compared to what you're wanting to go after), and as a rogue, our weapons usually come first. So as a suggestion, perhaps you'd want to aim for those before the pants.

If I remember right, there's a nice purple pair that drops in one of the Heroic Coilfang instances. Can't remember what they're called though.

Nocturnal, you may want to be aware that he's already got the Skulker's Greaves, the Midnight Legguards you're thinking of are a bit of a downgrade (I Had the Midnight Leggaurds for so damn long...)

I picked up the badge Belt and Pants and noticed a huge dps increase, along with the badge chest. I personally would use the badges on the gear first, but that's me.

Badge gear (pants and belt) is awesome. Badge fists are awesome too, and Tenjen, you should get those fists in near future. Yes i know 150 badges is not easy or fast to get, but those fists are really good.

If I were you I would farm honor and Eye marks for s2 swords and in meantime I would gather more badges for pants and legs. By this you will get more items faster rather than buy badge fists and then pants/belt (it is 325 badges after all).

You should check in spreadsheet if OH sword you have now is better than S2 sword. I didn't check that, but you should and then decide to get S2 OH or stay with ZA sword.

Badge belt and pants are one of best items you can get right now. I think they are in top 3 best items in game right now. You can check that also.

Other than that you have good plan. :)

You should slowly think about epic gems. :)

BTW: If I were you I would take one talent point from Improved Kick and 3 points from Improved Poisons and put 4 points in Vile Poisons.

ah but i dont disagree, no where did i say i disagreed with spreadsheets. Ive already consulted spreadsheets. Just that its no reason not to make discussion. For example, i somehow didnt notice i had 3 blue gems [i recently poped one in my new belt]. Thanks for the heads up jon.

Thanks for the heads up on the badge fists. Missed those completely. Payed attention only to swords.

O and i did intend to get the spiteblade and had considered the glad gear before. Just that i didnt want easy epics [my helm was a fashion option, i hated helm of claw] nor wanted to look like every other rogue i know. But the fists youve mentioned give me another option. NO ONE on my server really has them. [too bad for them]. Iam willing to replace the quesy looking aldor blade till then.

So lets see, replace blue color gem on pant, get badges for claws. Get 18k for MH till then.

yes my mind has been playing around epic gems. Iam thinking of starting around the time i get just one more escuse to start with them.

As for the ZA talon versus the S2 quickblade, erm damn ive forgotten, ill have to recheck

The s2 off-hand is just a minor step above Akil'zon's Talonblade, so minor that you may not want to worry about getting it just yet. It will increase your DPS but only by a point or so.

I personally wouldn't worry about putting eoic gems in anything other than the badge pieces you'll be getting soon. That and Gems are pretty expensive, I personally just use my badges to buy them (since I don't need any pieces anymore) so you could probably get away with sticking to blues until you finish up with the badge gear you need first.

Another thing you may want to look into is getting a hold of the Swiftstrike Bracers, it's a fairly easy item to get (though it may be expensive if you're guild doesn't have many Hearts of darkness available)

One question, since it's not showing in your link. Is your MH also enchanted? I know you said you were going to be getting the OH enchanted soon, so I was just seeing as well.

Nope, i dont see the aldor sword as something i'll throw mongoose on, not when its this close to being replaced.
#18 Aug 01 2008 at 11:46 AM Rating: Good
Okay, yeah if you're close to replacing it, you'll see a big difference with your new weapon and enchant, as well.

As for the neck piece, I've noticed from the spreadsheet and what other rogues said that the SSO pendant is what you should get. I was the same way as you with my Worgen Claw, but am planning on getting the SSO one and try it out. (Plus the fact that I heard the aldor bonus procs quite often, it may have changed, but I'm not sure).

I can tell you personally that I saw a pretty good increase in my damage when I graduated from the Choker of Vile Intent to the Shattered Sun Pendant of Might. As a scryer the proc is pretty lame, but it still pulls ahead by quite a bit.
