So, I've been away for 6 months and I want to start playing again. I used to use bongos but I'm gonna try to get out of the habit of clicking spells instead of using bindings. Can anyone recommend some handy addons to have? I don't know what's new since I left. Is there anything that puts a timer on sheep, and possibly retargets them when it breaks? I remember Atlas being good for instance info & drops, is that still the one to have?

Thanks!

There isn't anything that will retarget a mob for you when a sheep breaks. What works best is to use a focus macro to keep an eye on the mob, so when you see it break you can go to it. I personally use Pitbull for my unit frames.

Bongos doesn't require you to be a clicker... I've been using it for over a year and it works great.

use a focus macro as already mentioned in the thread, I use xperl for my frame management and it shows me my focus target in a seperate frame. i also use ClasssTimer to keep track of when my sheep/pig/turtle is about to break.

other useful addons that I use are:

wowmatrix - addon manager (the best imo)
Atlas/Atlas enhanced (the latter has loads of gear, including all sets and craft items for every profession.
omen
recount
deadly boss mods
bongos (simply awesome button manager - I'm not a clicker either!)
Rating Buster
autioneer
The list goes on.

I use most of the popular one here,ie cart., recount, ora2 etc.. but a couple I have found recently to help with my mage...

ADDON - Control freak....watches that damn sheep so you dont have to...does other stuff too, most addon sites have it

MACRO - I have a macro that not only focuses the sheep but will whisper people if they are going to accidentally click it.

ADDON - Spellcraft - helps so you dont have to use up space on your UI for portals, helps remind you to buy reagents...and some
other neat stuff.

ADDON - IHML - think its called I have macro lol - is pretty bad ***...instead of having macros for everything, it organizes
and in many cases for boss fights actually has the macros already in them and works in conjunction with bigwigs (I use
DBM, but it doesnt seem to matter much)

Info on the IHML addon - Link to information on this add on

The addons I use are:

Cryolysis2 - A very helpful mage addon that houses all your ports, food conjuring, when you need to buy reagents, mana gems, mount, hearth and you can even set a few up. I would say its my most helpful addon for my mage. De-clutters the interface a lot.
Note: Stick to the 'non-urgent' spells, and items.. I found out the hard way that its not the best place for health pots and stones. And definitely not Ice Block, lol.

X-Perl - Great for modifying your interface. Works smooth and fits well with the game. Also de-clutters interface. And its really good for raiding :) And the 3d moving portraits are pretty nifty XD

Titan Panel - Just a bar at the top and bottom of the screen, displays some useful info :)

Omen - Pretty much 100% of raiding guilds require you to have it. And if you dont have it, your unlikely to get many offers to run instances. It monitors your threat, so you can do maximum dps without pulling aggro.

Deadly Boss Mod - Not really necissary until you are doing raids, and even then, if someone in the raid has it, you wont need it. But it's an expected addon.

Questhelper - Pretty much tells you everything about quests. Where they are, what you need to get, how many you need to get, where you need to hand it in, etc. Very helpful for levelling :)

Ventrilo - Not really an addon, but a lot of higher end instances, heroics and raids will expect you to have it. Its basically a voice chat program. Its a lot better than the in-game one.

And atlas, like you mentioned is also a great mod :)
Hope that helped, happy gaming!
