I recently started a warlock (now lvl22) and decided to level herbalism. So far I've been using a herb bag but just got a soul bag from a warlock quest. I don't want to waste two bag slots with these ''special'' bags so was wondering which would be more convenient.
At level 22 you don't really need either. A normal bag can hold herbs/souldhsards AND normal items so you actually get more bag space that way.
Soul bag - Until you hit endgame and start doing raids or serious PVP you shouldn't need to carry more than a few shards at a time. You can always just make more when you get really low. Unless you routinely carry more than 16 shards with you all the time, a soul bag is just a waste of space.
Herb bag - Do you ever really find yourself with more than 16 separate stacks of herbs in your bags? Especially at lower levels when trips back to town are semi-frequent, that shouldn't ever happen. Even if it does happen though you only lose an extra bag slot temporarily, not permanently.

by lvl.70, you'll need both a soul bag AND a herb bag.. but for now... forget the soul-bag, you don't need to stock up on shards....yet.
personnaly I carry 2* 22slot bags, 1* epic 28 slot soulbag (core felhound bag ftw) and 1* 28slot herb bag. oh and I an use up all 28 of those shards in raids EASILY, so once you get to raid, it is worth it.

I have one of each, but keep them in the bank, not on my character.
I keep my shards in normal bags, because as i'm burning through shards that space will be replaced by loot.
