Epic mount/divination scryer questionFollow

In order to progress in the divination scryer part of the quest do you NEED to make your own scryer or can you complete the quest if someone else in your group has the scryer? I only ask since finding a group to run Strat/Scholo/Dire and HOPE that a pristine black diamond drops is pretty tough. That and the fact that I see the pristine's on AH for 600+ gold and that is just obscene (the price and the fact that people actually price them that high).

High demand item, not easy to get. I'm not seeing anything obscene about selling it for a steep price. Pay the market price, or farm one for yourself. There is no crying in baseball.

think that you can do it as long as you have someone in your group that has the scryer already. If I remember right when I did it with a fellow guildie, I had the scryer and he was still able to get the mount, which is truly sweeet.

Excellent, my guildmaster and another pally guildmaster I run with are both on this stage of the quest. Good to know we may all be able to make a single run if one of us gets the scryer made! :)

I would think not having to make/pay for your own divination scryer would be counter to the intent of the quest, but if you can do it with only one person in group having it, go for it!

I got my pristine black diamond as a drop in BRD the first time I was there, so maybe I am just lucky. They sell for about 90g on my server tho... not 600. It sucks that they cost that much on your server.

I agree, but I know Warlocks can skip a lot of money spending should they know another Warlock that has already done their mount quest and agrees to help. I'd imagine this is the same for the Paladin quest, but I'm not 100%.

IIRC, only one pally needs to USE the scryer, but everyone who wants an epic mount from the fight must have gotten one.

I don't believe you can get to the final stage of the quest chain without having done the intermediate step where you get the scryer.

Confirmed, you NEED to have completed the scryer in order to complete the final part of the quest. You may be able to use someone else's scryer in the final fight but each person/pally must have progressed to that part of the quest. Recently a pristine black dropped during a Scholomance run, three people rolled Need for it (me, my guildmaster who is also a pally and a warlock) and of all thing the warlock won. Needless to say he got blasted by me and my guildmaster since that was the only REAL reason we were running the instance. :) Well guildmaster ended up getting the diamond traded to him. He ported out, got his scryer made, then came back and we finished the inst run down to where Rattlegore was. The fight went better then I expected (although my guildmaster had NO idea about the Judging of Seals for the AOE stuns against the spirits), only two deaths and one because he was a 55 level mage. Guildmaster got his mount, I didn't. Ah well, back to pharming for the diamond, I guess.
