Hey guys,

Im to the point now in tanking were I am working on a High Threat Set.
So Ive been using alot of my dps gear mixxed with my tanking gear.

I have not had any luck with the Mace dropping in SSC off the lurker.. I was going to use that as my high threat weapon with the executioner enchant on it.
So - I was thinking of wasting some of my badges on the Blade of Serration. (http://www.wowhead.com/?item=34894)

One of my guild leaders is a tank - he told me that daggers were not good to use for tanking anymore.. But he doesnt remember why.
Can anyone tell me why this would be a bad weapon to tank with?

I am also planning on putting the executioner enchant on this item.

This is my char. (What I logged out in, is what Ive been using for higher threat/dps lately)
Also if anyone has any Items I should shoot for badge gear wise.. or whatnot to help with my DPS/Threat Tanking let me know..

(NOTE:) I am not having any issues holding threat - I just want to be prepared because some of our Locks are getting close to 1400-1500DPS and I want to make sure when the time comes, I will still beable to keep the aggro.

Don't spend badges on a weapon. KD is a fine weapon for threat. Not the greatest, but good.

Very little of a tank's threat comes from damage. Most of a tank's threat comes from the innate threat values of our special abilities, and the threat multiplier of being in defensive stance along with talents that increase threat.

If you're really having threat problems, put a shield spike on your shield, get the 2% threat enchant on your gloves, and get some threat trinkets like the gnomerean auto-blocker (60 badges I think) or the shard of contempt, pick up the broach of deftness that has +hit and +expertise (though the strength loss might make that a wash). Consider picking up a pvp shield, it will up your block rating.

Also consider regemming some of that dodge into +hit. Your dodge is quite nice, but if you want threat, getting hit capped will help alot (and it will also help you generate more rage, which means more heroic strikes, which means more threat).

Don't under-estimate the importance of expertise and hit rating -- they, more than theoretical dps on a weapon, really will help keep threat up. Make sure you're at (or as close to) the soft cap on both as you can be. You're under the cap on both. Get those up and you'll see a lot more threat increase than you'll see from changing weapons.

So I should look for about 100-145 Hit Rating and 45ish Expertise to cap them?

I have alot of +hit +expertise gear. I just havent been wearing it.. Ive been working on +str +agi trying to get my AP and Crit up, hoping to add more threat.
I will give the +hit and expertise a shot though.

Thanks for the info!

AP and Crit are DPS stats. It's not that they aren't important, but generally speaking, the AP values you will get from normal gear stats will be sufficient for tanking purposes.

Hitting what you're tanking is far more important than doing a lot of damage when you hit it :)

A good article on threat is: http://www.tankspot.com/forums/tankspot-library/35313-generating-threat.html
