PvP 3s question on compFollow

So I've got these two friends who are interested in starting a 3s team. One's a rogue, one's a hunter and I'd be bringing my lock. I suggested we have 4 members of our 3s team and it should, obviously include a healer. The question is which class to mix in. I'm suggesting druid, but would love to get some advice as to the viability of a disc priest, holy pally, etc.... I just don't know enough about healers to have much of an idea which would lend the highest chance of success.

Not to mention that I'm an arena noob. Any help greatly appreciated.

I would say Druid, Rogue, Lock would be pretty hawt, or maybe a disc priest.

LRD is a fairly common comp that can be one of the better comps in 3s. Aethien over on the hunter boards has been trying RHD (Deep runs this comp in Deep 6; you can find the link in my PvP FAQ), and I think it's been going pretty well. He hasn't been PMing me with tons of problems, in any case.

I'd say pick up a druid and then run those two comps. If your rogue and druid are good, they'll be able to carry pretty much anyone as their third.

Thanks for the replies! I'll report how it goes when the kids get back to school.

I'm hoping that a good roster will allow us to try out several comps and not burn anyone out. Though, with only one healer.... well, let's hope the druid really, really likes arenas.

Druids like arena because they're the single most powerful healer in everything but 5s.

They're dominating 5s now as well.

There's no P or M anywhere in this thread.

Also, I destroy RMP in 3s. Smiley: grin

Yeah, the abundance of double melee teams is really starting to ***** over all but the most geared/coordinated RMP teams. I just started a R/R/D team...it's teh awesomeness.

I just started a RRD as well, actually trying to get points for the first time. Druid pops over to heal, but is specced for dps. Other rogue is in all S2, but we're working on changing that. We mopped up some teams in a matter of seconds (mainly b/c my shi**y 3v3 score was in the 1400s) but had real issues with Pallys (think it was Pally/Mage/Rogue). Any thoughts?

Something fun that you have to try some day, is RRD. I'm the druid in this comp.. and my only regret is not having a human rogue on my team >:D

ps. don't go by the rating right now, we hit five different Warrior/Ret/Resto sham teams over nine games, tanked about 120 rating and called it a night. lol

You need to keep pallies the **** away from your druid. Any team with a pally, you get on the pally and make the fight about mana. Your druid will be able to get away and drink. Allowing the pally to use JoJ on your druid = GG.

In that specific comp, you need to control the rogue with cyclones/roots. Cyclone is the big one, expect him to trinket the first, and have your druid have another one ready to cast, but also have your druid ready to step out of the cast.

Poly should not be a problem for your team, and a mage focusing on any of your players should not effect you at all (vanish/clos out of novas if the mage is targeting you). With two rogues on the pally, then switching to the rogue when the pally bubbles and switching back after, it should be GG.

Thank you, will give it a shot next week. I was on the pally, the other rogue was getting CC'd by the mage, and their rogue was beating on our druid (whom didn't get the jump on the rogue and was getting interrupted on everything). I could have peeled the rogue but would have freed the pally to heal (even with the mind numbing on him, free casts = death).

That was the only comp that really rocked us...other than that we went 5-5...have a lot of work to do.

Playing defensive vs a pally healer team and not letting their pally drink, but allowing your druid to run them OOM is how you need to play. Have your druid learn how to hide Innervate with all of his rank 1 abilities so the mage can't spell steal it when he puts it up, but your druid should usually be pretty good on mana in this fight if he goes in with as many drinks as he should (our druid goes into all arena with 5+ stacks of arena water) and gets drinks where he can get OOC.
