So if the topic didn't make it clear enough, last night I dinged 70. My first toon to 70, needless to say it was a very proud moment for both me and my family.

However in wake of the ecstasy of hitting 70 i faced the hard reality of realising I had no idea how to proceed, as i sat there in silent contemplation i formulated a plan:

1) Grind out the gold needed to get a flyer, this would be done by dailies (any daily suggestions ones with good gold, or how much gold a flyer costs would be appreciated)
2) Keep grinding with new dailies for epic flyer (once again, cost would be appreciated, for some reason i cant find a reliable source for this)
-------ordering of 2 and 3 is open for debate-------
3)begin grinding out mats in order to level my tailoring to 375, and make myself spell fire and spell strike set (in the process making gold that could be or could not be applied to epic mount)
4)finally begin to raid after a few weeks of frustrating grinding, possibly one or two fits of crying

Should i leave my guild (basically no interest in raiding, and under populated scarcely more than 3 people on at a time), should i continue doing regular instances (even worht it?) so many questions, not many answers.

Even more frustrating, should i keep doign regular quests to get gold, should i just do dailies, what zone should i be in, etc. Are the only upgrades to equipment that are worth it going to come from crafting?

Armory link (fingers crossed this works) http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Lothar&n=Korlana

Any advice is appreciated.

Epic Flyers are 5200g (includes training and mount), of course, you will also have to pay for the regular flying training as well (if you haven't already).

Dailies is a good way to grind gold if you don't know what else to do (i.e. instead of working on left over quests... which some do give better gold rewards than dailies but could take much longer). There's about 12 daily quests on Isle of Quel'Danas alone, which can net you around 120+ g, and usually can be done within an hour. So if you play for some time, you can do those dailies then grind for the mats for your gear if you wanted.

As for upgrades, you can start running heroics as well if you have your keys for said instances. I'd suggest something like Ramps first.

As for leaving your guild, if you're not happy with the way it's going, then find another guild to suit your needs.

First - CONGRATZ!!! Welcome to the beginning of the grind... :)

First thing you want to do is get your regular flyer. You want this ASAP! It'll cost you about 750g. Get the money, and go to SMV (Wildhammer) to train. Trainer is standing next to FP.

The easiest way to get the money is probably the SSO dailies on IoQD (you'll want to get familiar with them anyway). Do all of them, and then do some regular questing, and you'll have enough money in no time.

Then....the rest is up to you. Try a few things, and see what you like most.

Welcome to 70!! Now, as you figured, instead of looking for experience points, you want gold and rep. I suggest as a first step in addition to doing the dailies (with SSO dailies as many priority) find out which reps offer you the most in terms of rewards. Just to list a few:
-Sha'tar (excellent glyph:revered, good sdamage trinket:revered)
-SSO (decent spell dmg weapon: revered, epic necklace: exalted)
-CE (epic +spell hit ring: exalted)
-HH (excellent epic spell dmg sword:exalted) -grinding exalted here may not be worth it anymore since you get a better weapon from PvP or badges.

Allakhazam used to have a great interface to find the rep rewards for all the reputations. Since the revamp on the intrface, I haven't seen it in the menu system. The easiest way to see the gear is to search for each rep's quartermaster's name.

Also, after I dinged 70 I made an additional 2.5k or so completing quests I still hadn't done.

Do you want to raid? There are 2 kinds of raiding, really. First, you could go be part of Kara runs that happen. Some people call that 'raiding'. It is technically a raid, but the real action starts after kara, at Gruul's Lair and Mag. Those are 25 man raids, and all are from that point on. Here's the big difference. You can get on a couple of nights a week (maybe 2) and go through Kara. Log on for about 8 hours a run, total (including wipes, learning fights) then get that down to around 3-4 hours eventually for a full clear. Raiding, part II is more of getting on with 25 others (instead of 10) and learning/grinding through raid content. Most hard core raiders do a lot more raiding than once or twice a week. So there is kara (read 'raiding-lite') and beyond. I got into SSC and TK, but didn't want to raid more than twice a week, so I ended up going to a different guild that never really got out of kara.

Then again, I don't mind that much. My best friend is a resto shammy on the same server and wanted to go *really* raid. He said they would wipe on some bosses for weeks, then have a breakthrough with gear/strat/whatever and get to the next one. It's a lot of dying and such, but that said, the loot is unreal. The satisfaction my friend had when they cleared BT the first time was awesome.

It really is about what YOU want to do and how much time you want to put into it. Kara is the next step for PvE. It is fairly fun. I think Bliz learned that 10 mans are where a lot of guilds can put people into and so they have planned 10 man copies of all the 25 man raids in WotLK.

You may also want to PvP, which is really fun, get your Merciless Gear, start doing arena teams and such. Some people hate PvP (I did for my first 6 months or so of PvP, but when I figured a lot of things out (like how other classes work), I started having a lot of fun.

There are some things to look at.

Have a good one!

It's a different game at 70, to be sure. Need gold? You can farm plenty of it with little effort. Need gear? S1 (edit--er, think only s2 is available for honor now) pvp gear is easily obtainable, and good enough to do some heroics or raid Kara. Like crafting? You can afford to max out any skill you like. Got alts? 20-100 gold gifted to a low level toon can make things a lot easier if spent wisely. Exploring can be fun, too. You can solo most of the pre-BC dungeons, or just look around and blast anythng foolish enough to aggro on ya.

Pretty much what i did when i hit Lv. 70. Farmed/Grinded for gold for my epic flyer at the same time doing my Shattered Sun daily's. Doing those daily's helped with the gold. Got my epic flying mount and since im a herbalist this came very handy. Then i started to run Heroics Instances and grind out items for my epic armor. Right now working between Raids, badges, and getting gold. Everyday i have to plan out what i need to do to get stuff done. I find some days that i cant figure out what to do cause i have too much on my plate.

The above suggestions are great....Here's another perspective. You may want to start getting yourself lined up for the expansion. Work on maxing out your professions. Get your epic riding skill. Build up some honor. Stash away some gold. You can spend a lot of time and money on raiding and buying epic gear that will ultimately be replaced (hopefully) by the end of the year.

That being said, kara is a lot of fun for a new 70 and if you get in a group who is just blowing through it for badges, then you can pick up some great gear in a few hours. It is easily pugged so you don't really need an active guild to get into kara. Just go to a main city and keep an eye out, you'll find a group easy. Some kara pugs are tough and some (if you are lucky) are awesome. You don't need the kara key, but doing that questline can get you some nice dungeon blues to get you started.

Have fun!
