PvP Hit Capped QuestionFollow

#1 Jul 28 2008 at 5:51 AM Rating: Decent
I have 113 hit rating in my pvp gear and when i was in arena yesterday i tried to blind the warrior to keep him off my healer and yet my blind missed him.

The warrior in question was 38/23/0 and i am stumped as to why my blind missed.

Thats very odd...

Did he have anything increasing his avoidance or was there anything reducing your chance to hit?

Only thing I can think of: you had sth reducing your chance to hit (the English name is Scorpig Sting (thanks for correcting the name)).

It's called Scorpid Sting, reduces your chance to hit by 5%. Viper Sting is the mana draining sting.

Well, it could be insect swarm, but that only reduces your chance to hit by 2%, which your extra hit rating should cover. He could have had some defense gear on, e.g a PvE shield, and that in combination with insect swarm made you miss.

Isn't there a 1% chance to miss no matter what your hit rating? Maybe you just rolled a "1". ;)

That's only for spells. Hunters and melee can get miss chance removed.

The only reason you could have missed Blind would be Insect Swarm.

There's no reason that you should miss Blind with 113 hit, though. You're more than above the 7% you'd need with Insect Swarm up.

I'm stumped...I blame everything like that on lag, even though it's impossible in this situation. Theo your other avatar was better.

My DK avatar?

I'm probably going to switch back to one of my House avatars soon, or I'll make one with my 4/5 S4 tomorrow.

Yeah, take screenshot, open in Photoshop, play around with saturation/balance/contrast, crop to 120x120, win.

It would look really messy unless you wanted to take a few hours and completely clean it up.

It'd be obvious though that it was a Photoshop.

Pfft, if I was actually making a print I'd use them, but since I'm just making a quick and dirty avatar...

Photography is my job. Smiley: tongue

I'm insulted that you assume I'd use my sh**ty work laptop with MSPaint...I mean look at the quality of the scripting, and the impressive shading on the numbers. You think it's possible to do that in Paint??

:)

EDIT: I'm sure no one noticed I forgot to scratch out that hot personal rating I've got too.

EDIT v.2.0: Thread officially hijacked.

Doesn't defense increase miss on the combat table? I'm not sure exactly how it works but defense says it lowers crit% chance taken, and also lowers chance to be hit.

If this war was a converted prot warrior for PVP, he might have been trying to make up for missing resilience by stacking on some Def gear in spots he didnt have much else for.
Its the only explanation i can think of because i fought a prot war monday night and he was an easy kill, but he frustrated the hell out of me
