I was looking at the loyalty on the wotlk ferocious talent tree, 20% chance to regain 10% happiness. Obviously when it procs 10 times, (possibly 11 due to losing happiness through the 1 out of 5 hit proc rate) your pet will be fully happy. My question is how much happiness does a pet have total? I have tried counting the ticks after taming a pet (which shuld be completely unhappy right?) but i cant seem to get a decent count. So for useless information reasons only, can someone please boast me the knowledge and give me a number on how many points of happiness there are from 0 to completely happy?

And Mania is still working on a table for happiness. There was a recent change to how fast pets lose happiness, and they have to rework any numbers they recently had.

I am not sure why you are worrying about loyalty and happiness in so much detail ?

If Mania at Petopia has no full answers then i doubt anyone has .

The only real thing any hunter needs to know in my opinion is that a happy pet does more damage the following stats seem to answer your question and was copied from Petopia. and as you can see the pet starts with 3600 points.

Loyalty Level Loyalty Points
Level 1: Rebellious 3600
Level 2: Unruly 7200
Level 3: Submissive 10,800
Level 4: Dependable 14,400
Level 5: Faithful 21,600
Level 6: Best Friend 28,800
A newly tamed pet actually starts at Loyalty Level 1 (Rebellious) with 3600 loyalty points -- right on the brink of Loyalty Level 2 (Unruly).

As loyalty and happiness are linked very closely all you need to remember is keep your pet fed and happy and it does more damage and as you can see at level 6 means you have to lose a hell of a lot of loyalty to make any difference and quite a long time for your pet being unhappy to lose a level

Starting Loyalty Level Ending Loyalty Level Content Time Happy Time
Level 1: Rebellious Level 2: Unruly 60 minutes* 15 minutes*
Level 2: Unruly Level 3: Submissive 2 hours 30 minutes
Level 3: Submissive Level 4: Dependable 3 hours 45 minutes
Level 4: Dependable Level 5: Faithful 4 hours 1 hour
Level 5: Faithful Level 6: Best Friend 6 hours 1 hour 30 minutes

To me these two lists from Petopia are all you really need to know , i do know all you can do is keep your pet "smiling" and you will have no problems , My pets at any level given the same level food seem to last roughly 1/2 to 1 hour before needing feeding again , that is if they are at level 6 , lower levels of loyalty do burn food faster as you gain loyalty.

Give Mania at Petopia a chance and she will work out the happiness chart fully.
