Hi, Im Beezi from Black Axe Clan, and i do both PVE and PVP. From what I have saw in my DPS is that if a rogue does preperation garrote, 5 point rupture, hemo, then pops a SnD for about 15+ seconds u can reach 1k dps on trash mobs if ur geared. Ive done it in TK. The problem with ShS is it falls behind after that first cycle, keeping up rupture and SnD with no way of getting energy back but by relentless kills the spec.

The only thing that makes combat awesome is combat potency. The ability to regen energy while attacking puts it above the rest, aside from double sword hits, more hit, longer SnD and such.

With ShS i hit 1k dps here and there on trash and i think i was 600-700 dps on VR.

As combat recently I hit about 1000-1200 dps. If u want to check my gear u can I am Beezi from Thunderlord, Black Axe Clan.

So basically what you're saying is that the average player in a PuG sucks less than they did before. So explain to me again how that means that running Kara with undergeared, poorly spec'd players is magically easier than it was before?

I'm not disagreeing with you, but I think you're setting up a strawman that misses the original argument completely.

1) It got nerfed a lot.

2) The general level of experience with Kara rose - most people in a PuG will have done it several times before and will do less choking and will generally play bette as a result of their experience.

The SHS spec sufferes from a couple things. First a full SHS spec has to pick points in assassination or points in combat. Assassination is better for burst therefore better for pvp. but by doing this you lose a LOT of offhand weapon damage, the slice and dice uptime, and 5% hit. These are all huge for damage. Improved SnD lets you put up at least a 3 point rupture every cycle while having 100% SnD uptime. When i tried doing heroics with my guild ShS spec i found myself burning a LOT of CPs to keep SnD up, and only being able to use rupture on 1-2 CPs. I feel that is one of the biggest weaknesses of ShS, is the free DoT damage thats not mitigated by armor. Combat potency is also a huge thing to lose.

The best estimates show that ShS is 25% to 33% less damage than combat, but i think in a lot of situations its less than that (like 35-45%).

Back to the OP, Swords or Fists. Primarily swords, stickies show you why.

As for Overlord you come off strong and its amusing at times but anyways, there is other things that make combat awesome for raids, like improved SS, Duel Wield, SnD improve, Sword Spec, Aggresion, AR, BF, Expertise, Precision, Surprise Attacks, Combat Potency.

In some situtaions im in, i wish i could generate energy without have to use a CP, or if i have any tea, or waiting for the ticks.
