Bear Boss: Easy
Bird Boss: Easy
Lynx Boss: Medium
Dragon-thingy Boss: HARD!!

Any and all advice on this would be gratefully received. I've read all the guides (allow a few eggs to crack while he keeps summoning down to 35% etc) but here's the problem we're having:

We tried allowing all left side to hatch, AOE taunt, Lock/Mage AOE - I died almost instantly.
We tried allowing half left side to hatch, AOE taunt, Lock/Mage AOE - I died quickly.
We kill hatchers as soon as possible but a few eggs hatch - at 35% he releases all, we all die quickly.

Where's the balance? Do we have enough damage? Do we need more AOE (3 locks and a mage dammit!)

We have the boss no problem. But the adds are killing us and we haven't found the answer yet. Help?

dragon thingy = easy once you know how

firstly, either druid OR paladin (preferably pally, and it doesn't have to be a tank, even a healing pally can hold good hate) tanking the adds, earthbind/frost trap... shadowfury.. anything to slow them down/get hate on them.
you have 2 people on either side when the hatchers come. 1 side (the melee group side) lets their hatcher hatch 2-3 and then they kill it. they have to solo their adds (only 4-7, so easy with no worries). the other side (your side, the aoe group) lets it hatch 5 times before killing the hatcher, so 13 birds. the first of which the druid+you guys are likely to have nuked down. the remainder, let the aoe tank grab them, THEN make sure that EVERYONE knows NOT to deal damage to the adds until YOU say so. you can get off 3-4 SoC before the first procs on its own accord, so by the 3rd everyone should start aoeing and they'll just get insta-gibbed without any worries of health.

you then swap sides, so the melee group takes your side, hatches 2-3 times, you takes theirs and hatch 5 times again. same tactic as before.
the moment you've done this, nuke the boss. when he hatches the remaining eggs there won't be many birds (about 15 i think) so aoeing them down will be easy, again same tactic as before and hey presto, you've killed the boss.

whenever we're going for the 4th timer, this boss is actually one of the fastest for us. by the time we get to the 2nd hatch he's almost at the 35% mark when he pops the remaining eggs.. lol

The problem I have always had with this is just not a good tank on those guys. My AoE by itself is normally enough, if we have a good Pally Off-Tank.

Edit: Jeno posted at the same time as me apparently, and his advice is better. Ignore me, I'm still kinda a ZA nub.

lathias, if your aoe tank is a problem, tell the git to go dps and get a pally healer to tank them :) they won't die with conc aura and constantly healing themselves and with concercration (however spelt) and righteous fury they'll easily hold hate, also making sure the other aoe's hold back till all the warlocks have SoC'd 3-4 of the birds makes killing them without worrying of dieing yourself ALOT easier.

I'm liking that, Jen, ta. Lath, you and me both, mate.

A Righteous Fury/Consecration healing pally will easily allow me and other lock to get 3 SoC's off. That's every one of them dead.

I'll let you know how it goes.

oh, if the pally says he's worried he'll pull hate off the boss... /slap him and tell them they're an idiot :) with the number of paladins who spec like... 41/20/0 (something like that to get imp.righteous fury) I know plenty who raid with it permantly on simply because the increased threat isn't an issue BUT the decreased damage from the talent is almost invaluable ^^

We had a hell of a time figuring this out the first time. We were doing the pull an entire side at a time strat. With a decent pali tank a full side of birds shouldn't be a problem, the problem arises in when to dps them. Seeing as how I was the only heavy aoe if i got agro and died it was a wipe.

The leader kept telling me to start my dps when they were still being hatched. You cannot do this. It's simple agro, a newly hatched birds comes out and gets hit by 1 tick of consecrate and 1 seed explosion, you will get agro on everthything else being hatched until you die. You must let all the birds get to him for a while before you start or you will pull hate garanteed.

The way we ended up doing it was after the first set of bombs go out then I would aoe the entire side. it worked like a charm once we let the pali get beat on. If your aoe is getting killed just let the tank build some more agro first. It's not a "these must go down immediatly" type thing, the fight gives you some time.

If you don't have the aoe to take all the birds down before the second hatchers appear all is not lost. The pali can simply run over with the birds still on him and take the second side and what remains of the first. However I suggest you just kill the 2 hatchers and wait for 35%. At 35% all the birds are released at once meaning you don't have to worry about building agro, 5-8 second and kick some ***.

The one problem with this is the flame buffet stacking. Noone must be around the pali as if he gets hit with flame breath he's dead. A bubble in between sides and some dispells help alot.

Its all about timing all your groups AoE at once, a mage or pally tank comes in real handy here. (frost mages especially)

wait until all the birds have been hatched and only then start seeding, if you can get 3 or 4 out before they explode the birds will die from zerg long before they reach you. It also helps if the mage in your group saves frost nova for mistakes rather than wasting it before he AoEs.

Ive done it a few times with varying groups, some with no mage and some with no pally tank. (not without both in one run :S ) Even a warrior tank should be able to keep mobs off the healers until they have all spawned, giving you the time needed to gank them all.

Also any form of snare can help here too, frost traps and earthbind totems can give the extra few seconds you need to detonate your seeds before the birds rip you apart
