More talent changesFollow

Source: mmo-champion.com summarizing the changes to the official talent calculator on the upcoming changes to the beta:

Paladin
Holy

* The amount of health point healed by Holy Shock has been increased by 66%. (eg. Rank 7 now heals for 2401-2599 instead of 1431-1549)
* Infusion of Light now reduces the cast time of your next Holy Light spell by 1.3/2.5 secs instead of 1.25/2.5 secs.


Protection

* Holy Shield will now give you 6 charges instead of 4.
* Avenger's Shield mana cost reduced by 70%, damage has been reduced. (eg. Rank 3 now deals 494-602 damage for 780 mana instead of 705-861 for 1745 mana)
* Guarded by the Light now reduces the mana cost of your Consecration, Holy Wrath and Avenger's Shield by 15/30% (Old version : Whenever your parry or dodge an attack you have a 10% chance to reduce the mana cost of your next Consecration, Holy Wrath, or Avenger's Shield spell by 25%/50%)


Retribution

* Improved Blessing of Might now increases the attack power bonus of your Blessing of Might by 10/20/30/40/50% instead of 4/8/12/16/20%
* Vindication now has a chance to reduce the target's attributes by 10/20% for 15 seconds. (Old version : 5/10% reduction)
* Pursuit of Justice is now a 2 rank talents (was 3), reducing the change to be hit by spells by 1/2% and mounted movement speed by 9/15% (Old version : 1/2/3% hit and 5/10/15% mounted speed)
* Repentance now costs 395 mana instead of 9% of base mana.

wow - they REALLY want this spell to be more useful from a healing standpoint. That is AWESOME!

wow, changes that aren't nerfs. i like the way this is going.

only question... is PoJ no longer applying to runnng speed? the notes you copied there only mention mounted speed. the speed increase would be pointless if thats the case unless it stacks with Crusader Aura now. i can use the aura for that and go 5% faster and save 2 talent points....

This is going to lead to some seriously nuts PvP healing if the Holy Shock CS remains at 6sec....

From that change, I would anticipate them changing it to 10sec at some point.

Really? I view it more of actually making Paladins viable in something other than 5v5 PvP. Don't forget, other healing classes are getting buffs too.

As long as Paladins remain (mostly) CC-less... That's the whole weakness the class has imo, and somewhat what makes them unique.

Repentance lasts a minute now, so we have a cc against humanoids

That could be the big problem here. Sure we are getting all these increases, but what are the other jobs getting in comparison to us? The same, more, less? I don't know enough about the other jobs to know any better.

Avenger's Shield damage reduced, QQ. Could've been a bigger nerf in there, I know, but still: I like my frontloaded threat :P

To answer your question though, which was the whole point of me replying, the talent does still affect regular movement speed as well. The Official Talent Calculator seems to be up to date with these changes.

And demons/undead (safer one), giants, and dragonkin. Too bad it's only available to Ret's, but at the same time, they were the only ones being denied groups due to lack of CC.

EDIT: just caught this, it's 8/15% speed increase not 9/15%. Small, and probably just a typo Jack, but I thought I'd correct it anyway :)

Yea.. don't overlook that Repent works on most targets now.

Incidentally.. there is more of a link than pure coincidence between my sudden drop in posting and the release of the beta. And while I was extremely sceptical about many of the preliminary changes I have to say that they are kinda fun. Havn't seen much NEW yet, just the way that the OLD stuff got changed. Can't wait to see something new because the over-simplification of all of the old stuff makes the Paladin play very boring. More buttons to mash may help.
